Should I care how wide Bid/Ask Spread is???

In line with what the others have replied, if in the real world they're filling only at actual B/A prices then with stock B, you have a 40 cent loss at the starting gate. Simulators that fill at the midpoint are a disservice to wannabe traders :)

Can't Get Back On The Horse

Deciding what content is acceptable and what isn't on a public bb is kinda pathetic too. You can do better than this... or at least you have in the past.

Can't Get Back On The Horse

Xflat, you post once in 5 months and this is your return to ET contibution? What's with the chip on your shoulder? Of all the people here, no one retired at a very young age? No one here beats the markets? No one here pays the bills from trading? To loosely quote what you've written...

    Basic Options Question

No way, no how What you might make would depend on when the SPY hit 100. Sooner, you might make 10-20X, depending on what IV does. Much later, much less,

Question about the March options on PCLN?

There was a John Tesh blurb on the radio last night about some Brit scientist who has concluded that Facebook and Twitter infantilize the mind resulting in short attention spans, inability to empathize and a shaky sense of identity. Ya know, a lotta people liked baby talk long before Facebook...

Can't Get Back On The Horse

Sorry, I'm not familiar with IQ feed. Two years ago I briefly looked around for another data feed when I bumped up against IB's limit (a DDE/Excel request counts towards it) but stopped after finding a work around sol'n.

Can't Get Back On The Horse

A positional trader with a longer term outlook (days for a swing trader or perhaps a month for an option writer) doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles. But a decisive day short term trader with a system and more visual requirements needs every tool available to reduce the time it takes to...

    Huge volume on C & SPY options...strategies?

C is more of an exception because its options are highly liquid and have penny increments. Options of most cheapo stocks have Holland Tunnel spreads (10-20-30 cts) and that's a lot to make up whereas the UL's spread may be only 1-5 cts. And if one doesn''t have 5G to trade a 1,000 shares...

Spotting stocks with wide bid/ask spreads...

Hey! Found it and appreciate it because I had that in my Excel and it's nice to be able to see it on the same screen. Hate to bother you again but do you know if opening a chart can be put in a Hotkey (either the daily or the longer Marketwatch chart)? TIA
