Where to go to learn options???

I don't know about 16K but I met someone a few months ago who paid 5K for an intensive week long all day course on how to be a day trader. While I was impressed by how much he learned from it, it wasn't anything that he couldn't have picked up from 1/2 a dozen good books and a few months of...

If I think a stock is going from $25 to $35 overnight...

Ditto this but if time until expiration was short, it could be the 27.5 call if it existed. Another way to look at it would be the lowest near month strike OTM call that is available for .05 cents.

    Profits, Losses and Training

Take $500 of the 20g and buy some good trading books and subscribe to a few trading magazines. Read them thoroughly and paper trade every idea you read or can think of. Take $4,500 along with the wife, significant other or mistress off for a nice vacation. You might need a few more $$ if you...

Vertical Spread Newbie question once again

In order to achieve the maxiumum profit of a vertical spread, you're going to have to be very close to expiration or very far OTM, or some combination of both. To see this, get hold of some historical quotes and graph a spread in Excel or use an option program that will chart the position...

    Calendar Profit Taking with Equities

Profit objectives and risk tolerance (stops) are an individual and arbitrary decision. To me, it would make more sense to run a trailing stop, giving you the opportunity to let your profits run at a fixed risk (assuming no gap down). And no, this isn't the 10 bagger board. That's over on...

    Smart Money Sells Straddles!

OK, this went over my head. What does Chuck Norris (the actor?) have to do with trading. Apart from that, IRL, he's a friggin' AH.

Does anyone trade in and out of the same stock twice....

I thought it took at least 2 weeks to learn how to trade successfully. But I'm going for the big bucks. I'm going down to Guadalajara for the 4 week course to become a neurosurgeon! :D

    Smart Money Sells Straddles!

Is it a coincidence that the tracking period starts in May of '09 when conditions became ideal for selling premium? (see 2nd data list) A naked straddle strategy would have been smacked in '08 despite the higher IV. In order to have broken even, the average straddle premium received would...

    Any options scalpers here?

I thnik you answered your own question. If you want to get filled no matter what, aka get in and out fast, you have to trade at the bid/ask. If you are willing to risk more in order to make more, you can work the order.

Can't Get Back On The Horse

My mention of arrogance, etc. was a generic comment about some of the traits you experience on ET and other BB's. I had no problem with the original post since I'm not much older, retired and paying the bills from my trading and investments. I think that trading doubt and reassessment is a...

Can't Get Back On The Horse

Xflat aka Xflat, Thanks for the kind words but the personal apology wasn't necessary since I didn't take a fence. It just seemed like you were having a really bad hare day (the rabbit died) and were projecting, very unlike you. Like all trading BB's, ET is contains rudeness, ignorance...
