Back-adusting seems the simplest and the most practical in most cases. I think that's all that NinjaTrader can do, and many traders seem happy with it.
I have an account with AMP and will probably change if I start to trade more seriously. I'm not sure if this is the best I can do, but this is my cost breakdown for a recent NQ trade (a total of $5.52 RT).
Exchange 2.30
NFA 0.02
Clearing 1.00
CQG TRF 0.20
Commission 2.00...
Trading Logic,
Good luck with your research. Smart that you are ready to paper trade first. Do this for a long time before you risk real money.

Dbphoenix,
I would very much like to learn from you and I will do my best. But I’m still confused.
I get the 1 2 3 swing – that is classic.
I get the idea of drawing the UL.
I don’t know how to determine when a market is overbought and so therefore the lines are not to be redrawn.
I don’t...
dbphoenix,
Thanks... Are you saying that my chart should ONLY have the red lines you have drawn or that it should have both the black lines that I have drawn AND the red lines you have drawn?
Hi.. thanks..
I've seen this text in your document, but I'm having trouble trying to incorporate it into my trading plan. I trade the YM on one minute bars between 9:30 and 11:00 Eastern. Ninjatrader has this wonderful ability to allow lines that are drawn on a daily chart to be transferred...
dbphoenix,
Sorry if I'm being dense -- my Appendix F is on Fear and it doesn't seem to answer my question.
I'm assuming "price takes off" means a supply or demand line is crossed. Is this correct?
Hello, I've been reading the .pdf associated with the SLA method but I don't understand something that is very basic. Could someone please unpack this for me:
What does "when price takes off" mean?
What is a /\ retracement?
What does "your line is broken" mean?
Thanks in advance
dbphoenix,
Is there a mechanism on this site for posting trades in real time? It should be made easy for traders to do but a day trader would end up with a ton of posts.
Thanks,
Thanks johnjax.
Hopefully then the custodial "self-directed" IRA route will continue to be available to us in various brokerages.

I found this at IB.
http://ibkb.interactivebrokers.com/node/188
It very clearly says "Not allowed to trade futures (including single stock futures) and options on futures." in IRAs. Are you saying this has been changed in the past day? Or was it not being enforced by IB?
Thanks.
This is fascinating discussion.
I have some IRA money with Millennium Trust and I use it to trade futures through AMP Clearing. But Millennium Trust does charge a monthly fee for the privilege.
When I opened the Milliennium Trust account years ago I'm pretty sure that IB did not at that...
Well I was thinking about it in terms of the times I trade -- 9-11AM Eastern. During that time, it's 1 tick I would say.. I never actually think about it.
TF has great spreads, great liquidity -- overall a great contract to trade. But it's really volatile if you don't know what you're doing. It can make you a ton or blow your account right up.
Happy to join you. I have a little chatroom at futurestrack.com between 9-11 Eastern. Nobody in it most days but me, but you're welcome to join. Or let me know where else to meet.
The two markets are as pointed out by others equivalent in many ways. I agree that you should choose one of the two and stick with it. Make the decision based on your personal preferences -- trading hours, capital requirements, etc. Good luck!
