If US defaults who will be blamed, Obama or Republicans?

I think that everything is Bush's fault. Just ask 'the chosen one'. Modern political correctness demands accountability; therefore, Bush. But if anything good happend, that came from Clinton.

Republicans: Trillions Could Be Cut from Budget if We Eliminate Empathy

From Bloomberg today: The chief psychiatrist for California’s overcrowded prison system was paid $838,706 in 2010, more than any other state employee that year, payroll figures released today show. The doctor, whose name wasn’t released, had a salary range of $261,408 to $308,640...

Is Christie A "Prick" Like The Dem Leader Says

I know a group of traders in NJ who are madly in love with Christie. Of course, they are self-employed tax payers greasing the public employees and the entitlement tit so I'm sure that colors their thinking.

Did Media Blow Greek Smoke Up Your Rectum? Is It Time To Short Yet?

Yep, it is a human condition - fight the markets because you are correct and the market is wrong. 90 % of the traders I meet who have gotten wounded or killed in the markets were trying to time a top or bottom. It is definitely an ego/ID type of thing.

Interactive Brokers "Illliquidity Surcharge" on margin of deferred months

Umm, I can't see your statement from here of course. But, if what you say is true regarding Eurodollar spreads, it is supposed to work the other way around. By exchange regulation you are required to receive a substantial margin credit. You are supposed to get the credit intraday as well -...

    Crane Operators making $500K???

Let me guess, you also think that expending $273K per job created as the official Congressional audited result regarding the Pelosi/Reid/Obama "Stimulus Package" is reasonable as well.

    Trading spreads like outrights

We use them whenever and where ever available. STIRS, grains, ICE, Nymex. Buy one cal and sell the other - butterfly. Buy two cals - condor. And the implieds will handle a stop limit order which is fantastic for risk controls.

    Trading spreads like outrights

I trade the Nymex exchange-supported implied futures calendar spreads in CL, HO, RBOB... love 'em. Not sure where the 'options' part makes sense. ICE has Brent and GasOil calendars and the Gas/Oil crack spread in the exchange-supported implieds.

Trading with a Stop Loss in the Futures Market is for Losers

Maybe know your facts before you post. I have a client who went live on March 01, 2011 with a $25K account. He has returned 45% net on that as of yesterday. In four months, on a net basis, he has over $36K in his account. Advantage Futures clearing, CTS front end, eSignal running my...

Trading with a Stop Loss in the Futures Market is for Losers

If you trade for a firm... your stop is determined for you. You are allocated a specific amount of capital with a specified max drawdown figure. You will not have a choice in the matter... they will take you out.

Trading with a Stop Loss in the Futures Market is for Losers

Just because you are not working an active stop in the marketplace does not mean 'you have no stops'. Paper trading 'heros' aside; if you are in the live marketplace, you have a loss. It is ultimately determined by your capital and your clearing firm. The idiot who proposes to trade 1...

Can one really successfully trade on fundamentals?

I model for commercial order flow, and hold positions based upon that order confirmation. We let them do the heavy lifting in terms of turning the market. And we hold through numbers. Because numbers help us.

It always took me a while to get done. And it was always obvious on a chart.

Can one really successfully trade on fundamentals?

I traded the forward book for the largest utility in the US. Gas, Power. Model Price. We would never leave an errant price "neglected". For size. As many as it would take.
