We are going much higher.....think 2875. We are going to retrace most of the Oct-18 to Dec-18 move down. SPX blew thru the .618 fib level like nothing and is now at the .764 level....soon to be surpassed. This is a crazy bull market. Everyone is searching for bull killers....none are in sight.

I wish I would have gone into the military. This is really boring.

Trading low beta stocks might be boring, but trading the first hour with Emini futures ? No way....it's wild, it's crazy most days. When 10:30 am comes, it feels like I've been trading for a day.

Why aren't you in St . Kitz, St. John's, or the Cayman Islands ?

Is it time to throw in the towel?

re:"Traders are too impatient to wait." PATIENCE is so important...it's not even funny. Earlier, I found myself "revenge trading".....and that was a killer profit-wise. No more. I've beat that bad habit. Now I'm working on another set of bad trading habits.....and there are many of them.....LOL.

Is it time to throw in the towel?

No Prop firm will support you while in a full-time job...so forget that idea. Right now you are on the fence between a guaranteed low income (after taxes) and a potentially high 6 figure trading income. Best to make a decision now on which one to commit to.

Is it time to throw in the towel?

Agreed...go with 100 shares, but NOT WITH TSLA....it's a monster. Pick something less volatile.

Professional Trading - where does it stand compared to other high pay professions ?

Final tally: figures assuming full time earnings 250 work-days per year. 1) Internet Entrepreneurs ($10k per diem) 2) Drug Dealers 3) Sports figures 4) Movie stars ($7k per diem) 5) Corporate CEOs 6) Lawyers 7) Doctors / Surgeons (especially cosmetic - those guys make a fortune !) 8) IT...

Professional Trading - where does it stand compared to other high pay professions ?

Not if you go thru an agency....they generally give you a 30-40% "hair-cut"....so that comes down to $600-$700 per day and only $400-$500 considering employment taxes.

Professional Trading - where does it stand compared to other high pay professions ?

Totally disagree with this. Market conditions can cause changes to the trading plan. Hardware needs to be upgraded....for instance I need a computer with 8 cores to do backtesting on tick data. Software is always changing and upgrading, so you must keep up with that. Trading hours vary based on...

What about independent traders ? (Like me !)

Professional Trading - where does it stand compared to other high pay professions ?

I've seen the unbelievable opportunity of trading the Emini market. I'll bet some competent traders are pulling down $1000 to $3000 per day with 5 to 10 contracts on one trade. But then it struck me...how does this income compare to other high paying fields ?? Now I'm talking people good in...

Is it time to throw in the towel?

Yes it is. I suggest he get a trade analyzer to see where his problem lies. If he has low MFE, that means his entries suck. If he has high MAE, then his exits suck. These are very important metrics for the day trader....as well as percent profitability. If you are below 45% profitable, just hang...

The same applies to the ES/NQ Emini futures markets....practically 24x7 trading with decent action even at 4 am EST !!

The GFE websites are actually quite good. You must have some credentials however before engaging with these high-end service providers. They ain't cheap.

Exactly...this guy needs to get laid....no doubt about it. He's obviously a successful trader and can afford to go out.

You should hit the gym after 10 am central, and then come back to trade around 1 pm. As Bone said, setting up a Tinder date will also occupy your free time and you may get rewarded for your efforts.

Been there many times.....With ES and NQ futures things are usually moving at least 4 hours per day.
