And stopped. Got myself really locked down in a bull bias today, but seems like the bull had the overnight move today and that was all they got. Should have used a tighter stop as I was anticipating momentum to take us through the 2707 area. Oh well. Seems like 2646,75 is in the cards now...

Trying a long from 2705. Stop at 2690. Offering 2760 to exit.

Scratch that. Found a bottom here it seems. I'm buying.

That was the main scenario I had in mind. Since we didn't seem to find a bottom at 2693 - I'd say the HOD is in and that we trade lower towards yesterday's HOD/Close from here...

    Let's see if we can find a bottom at 2693 / 2690. If not - 2670 and 2646,75 next.

Need to clear 2750 first, but I'll say that even 2800 is quite likely by end of day.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

The last Tuesdays following a strong Monday have closed net down. I think it's quite likely that pattern changes today. Currently, @ 2710, the market is up 2,39 % since yesterday's Close. If we conservatively estimates a 3 % day up - we should be seeing 2726 today. That's not too far from 2738...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Technically, the market was biased to go higher today. Having had 9 % up days in the recent past, it was not a stretch to see that today would unfold like it did.

I hear you there. The problem for me have been that price have moved so fast through my triggers with momentum that I wasn't able to get filled on my limit - thus I ended chasing and got poor fills. Working a buy/sell stop order in the market have helped this problem. As markets get back to...

Hello... I am back again with this crystal ball....

Let's hope you're right. To be honest, I have not bothered to follow the situation too closely in the last days or so. Regardless, the shutdown and quarantine measures needs to be lifted for us to see a full recovery, yes?

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Why - may I ask? I've been mostly using limits myself up until recently. I prefer limits if I can, but with price moving fast lately, I've been entering on stop orders with success lately on trades I otherwise would have missed (too slow) and/or end up chasing. It's a slower market again...

Hello... I am back again with this crystal ball....

Even if this is true - it's because they took extreme measures to accomplish that, i.e., shutting down the country and the economy. Here in Norway - the situation appears to be in control. Precisely because of the measures that's been taken. At the same time, the economy is suffering. I think...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Most likely today will be a slow grind higher, but being up a lot already - it's hard to say were we end by the Close. We've had a few + 9 % days lately, so do not fight the trend or short this on the basis of 'overbought' only. It's quite likely we will challenge 2630 today. That's + 6 %...

    Beautiful Scalper

There is absolutely ZERO reason to not start with simulator trading. You are very likely to make mistakes that ain't even related to your read of the market, but related to for example use of your trading platform, submitting/managing trades (increasingly difficult the shorter the time frame), etc.

Trade Execution - Chart Trader or DOM?

Discretionary traders: Do you use automated strategies for taking profits, trailing stops and otherwise managing trades? I already use an automated strategy for submitting orders, i.e., Ninjatrader submits a hard stop and a limit order at N ticks from my fill price. I think it could be a...

There we have another 17,50 point move higher off the LOD. A deep retrace or...?

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Posted this morning prior to the Open. Not too shabby if I'm allowed to brag a little. ;) But the reason I felt like quoting it is that I actually had a pretty bad day today. I got chopped up left and right - being too early or too late and executing poorly. Messing up an otherwise decent week...

That would make today an Outside Day. Could happen, but those are rare. Would keep an attention on 2441 if/when we get there.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Yes - I see the same. :) But how many of those swings did you need in order to determine that trend so clearly...? I was short around 90, but bailed on that thrust up to 88 as we were trading back up above the prior LOD. And even if I had a bearish bias from prior to the Open - I was not...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

I suppose it depends on what you're looking at, but 10 - 19 points retraces is a decent pullback to me. Within a larger trend down - it may not be that much in the big picture.
