Is Tom Hougaard the real deal?

I didn't insult you. I merely stated it suggests you're a beginner and as such you should stay humble and don't go on lashing out advice on how to trade. If you consider that an insult, then all the better. :) Actually, what I've picked up on Tom's trading came from what Noah and others told me...

Is Tom Hougaard the real deal?

You're new to this place, unless you're one of those multi-nicks that keeps registering over and over again. Seeing the way you post, I suspect you are. NoahA is not new, neither am I. This thread is 13 pages long and there's been multiple posts by Noah already on Tom showing that he does in...

Is Tom Hougaard the real deal?

Post those screenshots for sure. Honestly, Noah got a point. You're paying for seminars (!) and the next minute you're giving out advice. Meanwhile Tom Hougaard (which I have no strong opinion of either way) is laughing all the way to the bank... :)

Vote: Who thinks S&P500 will reverse trend in the next 10 days (2 weeks)?

Honestly, if a trader had to choose one single strategy it would be to buy the dip. Works great in bull markets and bear markets. An expert trader could sell and reverse at the rallies, too, but that requires expertise - especially in a bull phase. With some skill, the only day you'll ever get...

That wasn't a jab at you by the way. It's just that shorting in my view requires more skill and timing. Buying the dip is always easier.

Cryptocurrencies seems to correlate disappointingly well with equities. The market's in hyper bull mode for now, so yes, buy the dips. Leave shorting the rallies for the top traders. :)

I miss the days when markets didn’t trade overnight

That's one of the reasons I haven't taken up cryptocurrencies so far. LOL. Nice to have the weekend completely off. I mostly day trade, so I can usually disconnect during the night, though. It's perfectly possible to be an RTH only trader. Even when I'm doing the occasional swing trade on a...

I didn't expect them to be exactly the same, but certainly not night and day either. Care to fill us in?

Vote: Who thinks S&P500 will reverse trend in the next 10 days (2 weeks)?

I don't have a strong opinion, but I do notice it's an Outside Week at this point and the week is still young. We snapped back inside yesterday's range on the Close, but if we don't see any continuation higher tomorrow, I don't see why we can't dip to 5K by week end.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Of course it will. Why wouldn't it? The market corrected 10 % last fall prior to this recent rally. Here's the latest rally starting late October last year plotted with a green line. Logarithmic scale. As can be easily seen - this latest rally is just a small blip on a long term trend up...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

I don't look at single tickers. The thread title is "Gotta love ZERO RISK in the S&P 500". The thread was started in 2007 with the claim being "928 days since the SP500 had a one day decline of >2%". So, clearly, "risk free" markets ain't nothing new this year. Just pointing out the flaws in...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

There was a 12 % correction on NQ/QQQ from June to October last year, so stop making things up. Prior to that starting at the prior top in 2021 there were multiple pullbacks and retracements way larger than 10 %. The market will correct again at some future point. To be clear, I'm feeling...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

In 2020 bottomed out at SPX 2191,86 and continued to rally for 2626,76 points over the course of 652 days for a gain of 119.84 % bottom to top. This is using a 11 % filter for corrections (there was a 10.55 % correction in September 2020). Currently, SPX bottomed out the 14th of October 2022...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

LOL. How long have you been around? Save a few bumps along the way the market's pretty much been pumping non-stop since 2009. I don't see what's different or new about this market as we've most certainly seen more epic pumps in the past.

alot of youtubers using prop firm accounts for futures these days.

Yes. Bankruptcy depends on how deep your pockets are, but you can obviously go substantially in the red if you're trading with very high leverage and a black swan hits where liquidity disappears. Mark D.Cook (featured in Market Wizards) went $350K (!) in debit selling naked OTM calls on a...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Well, you did say it was entertaining to most, but money to others. The implication being you had monetized it. Anyway, thanks for clarifying. It's very easy to fool oneself in trading. Levels hold as often as they don't. And not to mention all the times a level undershoots or overshoots. If...

Not quite. Overnight margin is the margin you need to hold through the electronic close. That’s effectively one hour only on weekdays. During Globex intraday margin applies just like it does in RTH. I’ve also received those mails from AMP. If I’m not mistaken, I didn’t get those until fairly...

alot of youtubers using prop firm accounts for futures these days.

That’s incorrect because auto-liquidate assumes liquidity to liquidate your position. If you’re trading on intraday margin you absolutely can go negative in your account during a news shock. The probability is low, but definitely possible.
