Sorry to hear that. Curious - where did the strong bullish bias come from? I had the same thing happen last Friday. This week have been fairly clear to the short side for me, though. And Friday helped with that, I think.

Nothing should be a surprise in this market. :) Today was a consolidation day closing down 11.25 points from the Open. From what I can see currently, I would guess 5K by end of this week. Possibly already tomorrow.

Can't complain on a range bound day when the ranges are this wide, no. :)

The week is still young. Let's see if we get some continuation later this week. If recent history is an indicator, I'm not holding my breath, but assuming we're in correction mode still.

ES performance vs NQ and YM today

These correlations come and go. The obvious answer should be that some components in SPX is putting a weight on that index. Doesn't look too out of whack today to me, though. But I'm no expert.

Literally every break so far today failed. Range bound action for sure.

Never back-tested it greatly. Just mostly experience and playing it by ear. There's nothing special about B/E in and of itself - meaning it can often be a random price point depending on your entry. In a market like ES which back-fills a ton - putting in B/E stops too soon can be deadly as...

Stepping in front of the freight train with a short at 17.50. 4 point stop. EDIT: Auto-breakeven after 5 points of profit kicked in and kicked me out for a tick.

I think we test yesterday's Close (5103.24) in RTH. Rally if it holds; new lows (but maybe muted) if not.

    Iran’s attack on Israel "imminent"

Yes, but in my view, it's a vital difference between deliberately targeting and slaughtering civilians in a terrorist attack and civilian casualties in warfare. Those numbers are still terrible and it's hard to sympathize with Israel in that light. Yet, it's still a difficult situation for...

    Forever Bull Market

Of course it's different as it is different. The market's been pumping non-stop since the 30th of October last year. I don't think nobody denied that. While this pump have been epic, I've disagreed with you that we haven't had similar pumps in the past. When the market goes in super bull mode...

Poll:How many points up or down will the dow close on Monday

I said I would fade a larger gap up for at least a gap fill. Do I win the 2nd place? :)

You're literally me on Friday. LOL. Personally, I would be careful with the long side here. A flush lower into the Close seems more likely than any strong counter rally with a structure like we have so far.

    Forever Bull Market

The reason it feels like a sell-off is because it is - something you said would never happen again, although me and others kept saying how wrong you were. If this is indeed a correction playing out we should easily hit 4800 at least. So far, the market's only down 4,3 % from the top.

    The Bear is in charge

Congratulations. If you made money, you most certainly didn't F up even if you left a lot on the table. Don't quite agree with that Hougaard quote, though. Trading, done right, should be comfortable. Or at least as comfortable as it gets risking money (and unrealized profits). :) Curious on...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Quite plausible. Personally, I'm thinking possibly too much damage is done to salvage the day by now. ES filled two gaps on this drop and not down more than 1,17 %. I see the next gap below at 5085,75. It could happen today...

Fully agreed. And I would rather get "stopped" into a long trade here using a market order instead of trying to pick a bottom. We're selling here.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

I'm very happy with the day. Managed to take another short (59 to 38). Reason I'm happy is I traded incredibly much better than Friday where I felt like a complete newbie by the end of the session. Should be interesting to see how low this can go. That gap at 28.25 would be my guess for a...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Thanks. All-in, all-out, yes. I did the opposite of what I did Friday. Switched gears when scenario A failed. Speaking of which - the market's in a bit of a tricky spot here as we could find a bid here. So, can't marry the short side completely just yet. My hunch is we're just consolidating...
