Euro Dreams Fade for Zloty, Forint, Koruna on Slump

The lions are always out slaying the slowest and weakest gazelles. In this case, the Zloty, Forint and Koruna

Trend Following - data showing the results

Winton, Eckhard, Transtrend, Tuplip, Lynx, AHL are all single trendfollowing funds. Not sure why you say all these guys are running "multiple funds"? These are their trend following funds and that's what we're talking about. We're not discussing their equity long/short funds or credit...

    How can i raise money?

That's why I suggested you differentiate between FRIENDS AND FAMILY and OUTSIDE 3RD PARTIES as two separate pools for raising money. The former is your best bet for now. The latter is off limits to you unless you at least fulfill the above mentioned preconditions. Raise a couple 100k from...

    How can i raise money?

If it was so easy to raise six figures, why are you coming to a forum asking for advice? Fact is, it is extremely hard to raise money from third parties (other than family and friends). Before you even begin approaching third parties, you should consider establishing a) a professional...

Trend Following - data showing the results

Winton, Eckhard, Transtrend, Tuplip, Lynx, AHL have "big" drawdowns? Please define big. Annual avg. ROR % = Max. DD % is not big IMO, but maybe you disagree. It's not a strategy type (trendfollowing, countertrend trading, value investing, gamma shorting etc.) that defines the drawdowns...

    Citadel down 47% YTD

My bet is he's finished. 50% DD is game over. He might have long lock ups with a lot of institutional money that bought into his long term track record but I'd bet those guys will want out even if he recovers his DD within 3 years or whatever long lockups he has in place. 1200 people...

    Citadel down 47% YTD

SP500 was down 50% 2000-2002 and he was positive 2000-2002. That doesn't explain it. But quadrupling the funds under management from 2000 - 2007 and running an insane 1200 headcount money management organization maybe helps explaining it.

    Citadel down 47% YTD

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_C._Griffin claims during his Harvard time when he received his first investor funds, he was originally investing in convertible bonds. So he does today what he started out with; the same exact type of investments that's killing him today. It seems his market...

    How can i raise money?

Ask friends and family. Once you make them good money over the next couple of years, word will spread around and it will likely keep snowballing.

The mother of all shorts is building: 30-year T-Bond

Yup just a matter of time. JGB rates were 9% in 1989 and where are they now, 19 years later? LOL

How would you rate this mechanical system performance?

Sounds oddly familiar to http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=962461 Exact same 11% annualized return, 9.5% max DD, exact same asset classes, probably same/similar long/cash logic.

    non farm payroll -- -533k vs-335

Where are all the jackasses that were saying the government is fudging the numbers? So I have to guess this -500k is really -800k? LMAO

    non farm payroll -- -533k vs-335

That's good news. Should put a damper on those rampant inflation expectations

The Last Bubble - US Government Debt

I thought bonds were a bubble about to implode well over a year ago. Boy was I wrong. Perceived (!) irrationality can persist longer than we can imagine. Who says 30y can't goto 2.5%, 2%, 1.5%? Don't mistake "No brainer trades" for "risk free money".

Anybody Know What Time Jobs Data is Released?

There's a great anecdote in "House of Money" in Porter's interview: "The bond pit was eagerly anticipating the release of an inflation number. The number comes out, chaos and wild trading ensues. After the commotion slows down, a trader walks out, $10 million richer and he asks 'So anyways...
