Most people go into day trading without a business mindset as they don't stop to think what their competitive advantage is going to be. As @digitalnomad mentioned, a good mindset will do you no good if you do not have an edge. Also, one should have two pots of money before going "full time"...

Funny you should mention felons voting in Florida. A guy I know just got his voting rights restored in Florida where I live and he is now a registered Republican. It will be interesting to see if turnout changes in Florida in 2020.

Popular vote does not win presidential elections and defeating an incumbent president is not easy to do. I am not arguing with your stats and the right candidate could take advantage of Trump. I just don't see that candidate that can become the nominee.

For a $100k account, the max my portfolio of strategies would be holding is four contracts. So yes, leverage is used but not necessarily excessively high.

I would recommend $100,000 or more in trading capital though a smaller amount could work. I made right around $10k last month on $97k but I do not expect that every month. I am targeting and annual return between 50 and 100 percent. My current approach trades stock index futures (ES, NQ, YM)...

Thanks. YTD gain which is just the month of January. My first trade was the day after Christmas so I do not have enough live trading to determine annualized...but backtest results average over 100% annually.

Still just trading ES, NQ and YM. My risk component will allow a maximum of 4 concurrent positions (so that would be 4 contracts with my current account size). While I am very pleased with the result, the true test will be when we have some different market conditions as stock indexes shot...

Each trade was 1 contract and the holding periods ranged from 1 to 6 days.

Results for January are as follows. 8 trades. All winners. Up $10,097.29 for a 10.34% gain. See attached. Note. There will always be 1 share of QQQ and SPY on statement as it was a gift to my son that I hold in my account.

Moral of the story....make more that $50k per year.
