direct statistical trading a "clearly" defined approach by NTW31

Hey nuke, earlier you showed 2 methods. One used 1 hour OHLC data and the other used tick data. You said the tick data method was more efficient but you never said which you actually used for trading. I'm working on my own bot to figure this stuff out auto-magically in real time.

Remember the youtube trader blowup from one year ago today?

He's still trading. It was the author of this blog: http://highprobability.blogspot.com/2008/01/31k-goodbye.html

    Truckers Piss On Speculators/Traders?!

Actually there's a truck driver in my trading club and he seems like an especially bright guy to me. My observation is that the circumstances that lead people to their various jobs has almost no correlation to intelligence. I've met morons with degrees that should be hauling trash. I've met...

Like always, it will consolidate against a century mark (i.e. 1.3100 in this case) and either bounce or plunge through. I wonder if there's a trade-able statistical edge to behavior around centuries? It's been my observation, anyway.

    winning percentage for entries

Read Van Tharp. His analysis of system design based on expectancy is required reading in my opinion. The percentage of winners is only one variable in the bigger equation of profitability. As an earlier poster pointed out, you can have a 50% win rate and still be profitable. It's more...

Hey nuke, which package did you get and how much was it? Their web site doesn't list prices that I could find; they want you to request a quote.

    Volatility indicator for Forex

The VIX is an *implied* volatility measure. i.e. forward-looking volatility. The closest you'll come to that for forex is to maybe look at currency futures options.

I had heard this about his wife too. How much you wanna bet the little lady "disappears" as well? With enough money and planning, anyone can vanish into the wild.

He probably was but for whatever reason he ran into some trouble. Maybe he just got over-ambitious trading OPM. That Madoff character was legit in the past as well. His hedge fund was apparently the real deal years ago but went Ponzi when he ran into trouble.

God damn! I followed his blog as well. Good info, apparently a common-sense, down-to-earth guy. His opening range breakout trading was a real eye-opener for me. Simple and straightforward. Edit: I found his main web site with some more interesting info...

direct statistical trading a "clearly" defined approach by NTW31

I just traded an old skool breakout at 1.3104. Moved the stop to BE at 1R (7 pips). Sold 1/2 position at around 3R (1.3125) and trailed the stop for the remaining. Trail hit at around 6R (1.3149).
