Why exactly did oil prices tank in 2015-2016?

While the dynamics are quite complicated, I think the biggest factor is the one mentioned by ET above. Prices of crude and other commodities were predicated on particular assumptions about EM (mostly China) growth. When people started to doubt these expectations, commodities reacted.

The Fed’s Clock Just Struck Thirteen

While I can easily question some of the logic, I can't really disagree with the conclusion. I am not sure there's anything exceedingly novel and exciting about the idea that you don't want to own either the really safe assets which yield very little or the really risky assets that might yield a...

Does anyone trade options via spread betting firms?

The 17 countries with the highest level of government debt

The international debt mkts don't have a lot of appetite for South American and African sovereign debt, given its propensity to default. That means that govts in those regions are not capable of issuing a lot and thus can't have a high debt/GDP.

How are Greeks used to actually trade?

Unfilled Limit Order - Why doesn't the broker fill it and collect the commission??

If my understanding of the rules is correct, such a fill would be in violation of the broker's fiduciary duty of best execution. At the very least, the broker would have to acknowledge the inherent conflict of interest and its possible repercussions.
