    stock price scanner

Tradestation's scanner can do this. I can't speak for other brokers but it seems simple enough.

Survival of the fittest, or combined utopia?

Already happened with the first family to walk the earth. They were in paradise...... Look at us now. :(

:D Thanks for posting; I've been waiting for this.

Does Apple prove that the stock market can be a total joke?

Interesting that you bring up the buyout case. Even the rumor will raise the "market cap" because again - the door is much smaller than it looks. I didn't realize you were one such potential suitor. Most of us on here buy the shares so we can sell them later.

Does Apple prove that the stock market can be a total joke?

Paper profits don't exist. AAPL proved that "market cap" is theoretical; the exit door is never large. :)

I only made 6.67% last month

I remember my first month trading. BP's well blew out and I piled into puts. Doubled my stake. Then I attempted to learn from Gurus, and slowly lost it all to time decay. :( Lessons learned: strong trends tend to continue, options tend to decay.

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

TA can be used as a tool for taking small losses at a decisive point, so bad callz won't break the account. Problem is, most gamblers want to believe they can predict the future, and they can't bring themselves to trade this way.

    Blacks and Hispanics are stupid

Liberalism is a worldview based on elimination of guilt. Liberals, by their nature, are inherently ashamed of themselves so they seek to change the outside world, hoping for relief from their inner accuser, yet they just lock themselves into a state of permanent mediocrity. If they would...

    Big correction starting this week?

That is a good start. You can't see the inverted head n shoulders, price above 50 sma and long term up trend if you're too proud to look at price, now, ONLY. The short smash may be the end; sometimes strong trends end like this - with a huge squirt after much anticipation.

Best Guru to follow for value

Off topic: I actually had two main Gurus that helped me learn how to not lose (even win) when trading. One guy had a ridiculous looking google ad a few years back offering daily stock picks and a dvd "training" course (which left out a lot of what he was doing to be successful). I...

    System made 124% in 1/2 a year but ...

I would strongly suggest backtesting for several years. I had a one year version of an algo that I created over 10+ years of price data. It beat the 10 year version slightly over the backtest range, but failed the out of sample while the experienced bot kept on slinging the dollarz into the...

    Big correction starting this week?

It all depends on where the suckerz are. The Market is an organism that systematically shakes money out of the accounts of emotional gamblers, and gives it to disciplined backtesters. Knowing this, where might the Organism of Pain go next? The back test can help, but what really matters...

Harvard: Don't Come To Cambridge If You're A Conservative

Acceleration based on position, or distance based on acceleration are two of the most useful in aerospace (obviously for nav / avionics).... but the computer doing the calcs would not be using calculus, rather numerical methodz. The big fallacy with calculus is you need to start with some...
