FBAR (foreign bank account reports) due June 29

He is correct. A friend of mine had an account with a Swiss bank -- Wegman & Co. -- for over 20 years. They have closed the entire bank due to criminal charges being filed by the US against the bank and he is already in for close to six figures in legal and accounting as preparation for...

Greeks now wish to renegotiate bailout based on Spain's deal.

I thought everyone out there in the rest of the country likes us New Yorkers. I'm shocked!!

Greeks now wish to renegotiate bailout based on Spain's deal.

There is some debate over exactly what he said to congress in 1912 (I'm sure it could be found) but if these are not the exact words they are close enough!! One version is: "Gold is Money. Everything else is credit." And there are others floating around. Smart guy!

Why are there no lines outside of Greek and Spanish Banks?

Isn't the advantage of trading as opposed to investing that you get to respond to the market rather than anticipate it? The best traders will do great. The next level down will do well ... etc.

Moving to singapore or dubai for trading

So $2,500 or so for rent ... etc., etc. OK, now it makes sense. It is like big city America up North as opposed to the sun belt which can be done for a bit less.

Why are there no lines outside of Greek and Spanish Banks?

Are the British just more old school? Once Northern Rock got in trouble it took them about 20 minutes to line up in front of the branches.

Moving to singapore or dubai for trading

I don't live in Chicago -- I'm in NYC -- but I can't imagine you could get by on 30K there and my guess is 50K is not even living medium ... never mind large!! My guess is a guy from Chi thinks of $40,000 to $50,000 as a pretty good deal for Dubai.

Why are there no lines outside of Greek and Spanish Banks?

What is it Iceland did right? They were back in the credit markets with a billion dollar deal 18 months after they went bust.

Why are there no lines outside of Greek and Spanish Banks?

I am under the impression that the deadline was pushed back until June 2013.

Why are there no lines outside of Greek and Spanish Banks?

yes ... but all that was true last week and last month. I'm curious about what imminent fear causes them to move. I also assume the banks will need to use some potion of this round of funding to buy Spanish debt otherwise the rate will simply skyrocket. At no point am I suggesting that...

Why are there no lines outside of Greek and Spanish Banks?

Does anyone believe that a big part of the reason that Europe is bailing out Spain's banks is the fear of lines outside the banks? Keep in mind that the UK experienced those lines with Northern Rock not so long ago.

Yeah ... that sounds like a sound plan!

If I am not insane about where I keep the next egg I can all of the below and the nest egg. Should I piss away the savings for no reason?

Why are there no lines outside of Greek and Spanish Banks?

Of course I get that the wealthiest and most savvy Europeans have repositioned their capital out of weak banks, nations and currencies. My question relates to the next few levels down in wealth and sophistication. At this point on the curve it does not take a whole lot of financial knowledge...

Why are there no lines outside of Greek and Spanish Banks?

I don't get it. There are millions -- tens of millions -- of people who wake up each morning in these two countries that are acting irrational in the extreme. Has our species gotten to the point where our survival instinct is degraded? If you are in Athens, of average intelligence and read...

    Anyone Betting on Facebook?

I think the newguy has framed the question almost correctly. it will not boil down to whether their soon to be billion+ users can be monetized (they already are) but whether the net income from that process propels this into the ranks companies that has created large and growing long term...

WOW ... talk about a firm that is on top of it!

I use Rithmic with SC ... I love the combo. Rithmic is great ... rock solid, dead on feed. Howard is a great guy and Crossland is terrific. I think you'll be happy there. Seems everyone that uses them is.

How do you get rid of the "ego"

At least for some period of time enter only trades where you can use both a fixed stop and fixed profit target. Make you only function trade selection and make management mechanical.

WOW ... talk about a firm that is on top of it!

I use DEEP DISCOUNT and they clear through Crossland. I could not be happier with the combination. Now I never trade beans, I suspect I will never trade them but I got this email from them as, I'm sure, did all their clients. If your paying attention to this you ain't missing much...
