    Real Estate: Fundamentals

Wow, 77% of Americans claim to have heard nothing about a Real Estate Bubble: http://post.polls.yahoo.com/quiz/financeresults.php

LOL, and the same in my state of North Carolina as well, sad to say.

How to hide a hard drive?

Uhm, what about when the system is saving your new awesome trading strategy that will make you millions to sector 3124 and you throw the switch? Does the OS suddenly say "Woah, this guy switched hard drives on me"? Is this a common occurance, enough to program for? I bet your xbox thing is...

    E-mini data question

And God may decend from the heavens and quintuple your trading account. Both of these things are theoretically possible, but I wouldn't trade as if they had a chance in hell. A 10 point spread on ES during RTH is about as common as unicorns goring drunk Irishmen like myself. And even if it...

Do Something About The Multiple Aliases,Please!

I used to do the same thing, but wanted in on some other sites that didn't allow the freebies. So I had to figure it all out - it was a pain. And the funny thing is, I have the ability to set up 2 or 3 (or mebbe more) additional email accounts on the same domain, but I can pick the names...

How to hide a hard drive?

I like the true security of my trading system being 100% invulnerable to my other PC. I take risks with my other setup, but my trading system is used carefully. If I DL something terrible and my other PC loses everything and is down until I have a few hours to restore it, it's no big deal. So...

How to hide a hard drive?

I did this with a switch that controls the power for my drives. I switch it one way for my "trading" computer, and the other for my gaming/regular stuff one. When I'm trading, one drive is powered up, and when I want my other "computer", I shut down, switch the switch, and boot to the other...

90's Bull Market Due to Decreased Savings Rate ?

They always calc savings as a percent of "disposable income". Dunno about you, but there's no part of my income I consider disposable. ;) Seriously though, what is that? Gross income after taxes and whatever you spent making the income? And does this "savings rate" take into account 401Ks...

    4 x 20" LCD Multi-Monitors Stand

Not true, at least not with the Ergotron Dual stands that I have. The stands are freaken heavy, and they have a base that goes out underneath the bottom of the bottom monitor, so the center of gravity is behind the monitors. In other words, they don't lean. I don't know anything about any...

Do Something About The Multiple Aliases,Please!

I suspect they'd do something like: Hotmail is already blocked, and Yahoo probably is. The problem is new free domains are added to the net frequently. And, many folks have some admin rights to create and destroy email addresses. For instance, I have two or three additional email addresses...

Do Something About The Multiple Aliases,Please!

Baron can and does ban individual IPs and IP ranges. But it's tough to keep folks out solely based on IP address, since most ISPs rotate IPs. IMO, the answer lies in a more difficult registration system, perhaps the first few posts a new user makes require mod approval before appearing. Or...

    4 x 20" LCD Multi-Monitors Stand

I like the standard 2 mon poles. My eye level is right at the place where the bottom and top meet. My desk is a bit too short, so I put it on blocks. :) My bottom monitors are about 2 inches up from my desk. But I could raise them all because the top bracket to hold the top monitors are...

    add to a losing positon

That's one thing I've been trying to work on. And man, that is hard. I dunno why yet, but when I figure this out, it's gonna help my bottom line a lot. Maybe I need consistant rules about when to add to winners (like when it breaks S&R in my favor, scale more in).

    add to a losing positon

I'd be unsurprised to learn that the vast majority of "DoubleDowners" do exactly that. It is pretty amazing how strong an idea can be. Why just today, I was pretty confident we'd bust thru 1180 for a new HoD, and even let my stop slide a tick only to bail at 1178.25. If I had doubledowned at...

    add to a losing positon

Exactly. If you edge is some sort of general market condition, but doesn't have very precise entry points (for instance), then the market can move against you pretty well - and adding to losers might well make sense (provided one still bails when the general market conditions change)...

The last Consumer Confidence was slightly less than expected IIRC, wasn't it like 97.7 vs 98 expected?
