Do large banks and institutions use TA to profit?

This is insane - if you're trading off of what is "currently happening" you're trading off of what you JUST saw. That's past data and you're making an educated guess or prediction on where you think price will go - otherwise why the hell would you even put a position on? 6k account and you're...

This is what it takes to be successful at trading (mindset)

Ah yes, TF (or prob ER2 then), good point. So what's the problem here? Just add another 10 and ride that shit! :D:rolleyes:

This is what it takes to be successful at trading (mindset)

The thing I never understood about that video was how a 20 pt drop translated into 25k with a 10 lot. What exactly was he trading? If they were SP futures it'd be like -50k, and if they were ES futures it'd be like -10k.

This is what it takes to be successful at trading (mindset)

That video is used over and over and the only real take home from it is "use a fucking stop loss."

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

When it comes to winning trades vs losing trades it'd probably be a hell of a lot more beneficial to most for a "mentor" to focus on losing trades and why they lost - i.e. analysis of mistakes, errors, and external factors which contribute to bleeding of win/loss ratio.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Well this is the great thing about trading - we all get to have our own takes on it and when the week is over debate it over the weekend.

Speed Traders Propose ETF Fix to Prevent Repeat of Aug. 24 Rout

The problem with ETFs or other abstract baskets of things is that if components of the basket are halted than the basket itself also has to be halted. The current CBs only account for single stocks and do not account for relationships whatsoever.

"Jim Simons is Correct About Trend-Following"

There's really no reason to trade futures with 1:1 leverage anyway. Even if you stuck with 1:4 when's the last time you saw something move 25% in a single inescapable move?

"Ought to" are dangerous words in trading. :-)

    Ag trade ideas

KCK16-KCH16 spread going against me somewhat but my KCZ16 outright more than covers for that. Sugar looks strong. Cocoa looks double toppish.

    Ag trade ideas

Im fixing to update that IB ICS thread with every spread they do not have using CQG as a baseline. IB's exchange spread support is half ass and it doesn't need to be this way.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Up all next week. You heard it here first. I'd be surprised if it broke 1900 and gave the Bears everything they've been hoping for. I mean Cmon - how obvious and painless would that be? This is a trap and harvest market right now, just ride that comet when you can get on.

I rue the day I traded the EURO...

EURUSD looks like it's a blue light special right now. That gap down is out of place.

Yeah that looks like a TIA more than "dehydration." Something definitely wasn't right and it felt like she knew it too. Horrible situation to be in.

    Black Every Day?

Brazil or something else will explode before they even get around to Oct/Dec "hikes." There's always something.

You guys here how Yellen had "health issues" at her UMass talk and ES/6E decided to move 50+ ticks on it? Definitely check this one out:

Futures Exchanges not available via Interative Brokers

Afaik you won't be able to trade China or India as a non citizen. Even then good luck finding an FCM who clears them. RCJ clears some of those other markets though.

    Can this be for real?

It's funny the hugely negative reaction (which I understand) because the above is basically what HFT groups do in equities all day every day.

    Current Forecasts - ET Extremists

Yes, because it's not as if the US has ever had a deep recession right after "economic growth" before, right? I'm long ES dude. BTW: it's possible to have 2 different trains of thought in your head at the same time. Big picture, medium picture, small picture, etc.
