1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Isn't spread trading as expensive as paying taxes because of the way those cfds are priced? If those cfds are not backed by futures contracts their trading should subject to counterparty risk.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

The predefined risk of IC does not mean that you can't lose all your cash in one trade. So you need to keep in your account ( or keep at hand ) at least 4-5...

    Personal note

ROI is precisely that: 'return on investment', not 'return on risk'. What if the risk is undefined (as in case of a short stock). Besides in general capital committed to a trade can be greater or less than it's risk.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

For purposes of a bailout means 'saving the banks from bankruptcy' in my book. I don't think it's possible to calculate upfront what's the risk of failure ( crisis) . What I mean is that insurance might not always be enough to bailout all the banks that would need it at the time of crisis. (...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

But FDIC insurance protects client assets, not the banks. I don't believe there exists a type of insurance that can protect a business from bankruptcy.
