Can I use ThinkorSwim with another broker?

No. TOS is only available at TD. They bought them a few years ago and changed their policy. At other brokers, you can only use what they make available.

    Selling naked puts option strategy

You quoted me giving the impression that I said that. I was referring to his strategy. I would not trade this strategy at all.

    Selling naked puts option strategy

The margin on your trade is high for reg-t. In a PM account your required margin is much lower, so if successful, your return is higher.

    Selling naked puts option strategy

In a Reg-t account, this is a capital intensive trade for that return. I think a portfolio of these only works in a PM account when your return is higher because your margin allocation is lower. However, your market risk is higher too.

    Selling naked puts option strategy

oldnemesis, To me all trading is risk reward. If I like a stock, I want to profit more than from the value of the put. And if some of those positions go against me, those losses in the short run will out way my many wins, because I'm letting my losing trades run more than my winners. If I want...

    Selling naked puts option strategy

IMO, selling naked puts, based on whatever research you do, where you have an expectation that they will expire OTM and you feel the price includes the risk, is a viable strategy. However, selling naked puts under the expectation that I'm willing to buy that stock today at that price in the...

Can Traders Get A Loan or Mortgage

They will look at your tax return going back two years. They might consider only earned income. You should visit a bank and get pre-approved. Then you will know.

    IB VWAP versus MOC

There are brokers on the NYSE that work orders similar to a VWAP. There is no guarantee, but they can often do better than the VWAP because they can match on all prices. That means when they are matching the bid or offer, they can get a small match on each trade. You don't have to wait for it...

    IB VWAP versus MOC

I like using VWAP to exit/enter large positions. I don't like using MOC for that.

    Neg covered call

Do you mean you are losing money on the trade and want to know what to do next? If that is true and you no longer wish to lose more money on the trade, exit it and move on. If you take a fresh look at the trade and like it more or as much as before, and don't want to exit the trade because you...

Quit prop firm after server side technology issues with API cost me my year; advice on non compete

That might all be true, but no one will hire you while that document is in effect. They either have to "let you go", or you need to take them to arbitration for something else hoping to get rid of this or hire an attorney to make it go away. This contract sound overly restrictive to be enforceable.

Quit prop firm after server side technology issues with API cost me my year; advice on non compete

I'm not an expert on contract employment law. I do know that if the contract is too restrictive that you can't earn a living at all, that they are often set aside in court. The best thing to do is ask them to wave the contract or parts of it. If they won't, you will have to consult an attorney...

How many trades (number wise) do prop firms / clients want to see before gaining confidence?

Brokers care about volume, investors do not. Investors care about risk adjusted after tax returns and how long you can maintain them. The only issue I see with funds or managers that don't trade often, is that it might be harder to get an investor to pay a 2% management fee for part time work...

How many trades (number wise) do prop firms / clients want to see before gaining confidence?

I would say you need a track record of at least 12 months to begin to interest anyone in your strategy. Sometimes investors want to see how you have done in many market conditions. So that takes many years unless we go though a bear market anytime soon.

    Silexx OEMS

I never noticed that before. The slide looks like it moves forward in time. I moved it all the way to the right and the date is 2015-06-05. I guess it is to simulate these prices forward. I would never move forward more than a day or two.

What is the max loss on a long straddle if you long/short stock to scalp gammas

Sorry I can't do that. There are too many things to consider including your risk tolerance, how volatile the stock is ,how much time to expiration etc.

What is the max loss on a long straddle if you long/short stock to scalp gammas

You can lose money scalping if you don't do it properly. If you over trade rather than trade the position when you reach certain delta levels.
