    You still need a broker if you own a seat. Owning a seat just means that you do not pay the exchange fee. You still have to pay a broker to clear your trades. Before CME stock was listed on NYSE, seat owners owned a share of the exchange but they got CME stock for their ownership rights.

    If you buy a seat directly from CME then you email IB and they take off the exchange fee from your commission. You can also choose tiered instead of fixed commissions to get a quantity discount.

    Sell credit spreads as the margin is a lot less. Have enough capital and portfolio margin to take delivery and then sell covered call/put if it goes wrong.
