If the Republicans care about terriosm why Cut funding to new york and washington :D

OK, try thinking of it like an award that is given out only to special people every year. The third year, a few of the same people don't get the special award and they complain that their salary has been cut. Does that help you understand? I doubt it, but others get it. The only propaganda...

    Writing Calls on S&P Futures

I do both sides. IMO, the call side is far tougher (if you're talking naked.) Even hedging is more expensive on the call side. The big problem is that a significant up move is not accompanied by a rising VIX. In fact, the VIX is usually declining when we move up with any conviction...

If the Republicans care about terriosm why Cut funding to new york and washington :D

It was effectively grant money and not a budget. Once again, you should get your facts straight before starting yet another rant.

S&P500 Options expiring on last trading day of the month

Volume has been seriously picking up...about 7,000 EOM contracts on the Call side today. With the VIX pushing 24, rolling out for two weeks vs. five is very attractive.

    BREAKING NEWS: Karl Rove Indicted!!!

This thread alone proves some have lost it already. Armed with a keyboard and a connection, I think some of these guys sit around in their panties all day and just make this stuff up.

So is this an anti-IB scam?

Thanks David. I am also impressed by the detail in the NFA complaint of IB's efforts at contacting and querying the rogue trader (throughout the process) about the suspect patterns of behavior.

Need assitance starting executing an ES Option strategy

Enter ES in TWS as normal. When the contract selection window appears, select EW from the "trading class" section in the lower left. See also: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=65999

Breaking news: Niederhoffer still in business after market correction!

Barclays has it. His fund is Matador under managed futures. He has been reportedly selling SP puts, but with Vic you just never know. He says all kinds of things so you never really know what to believe. I will say this, he has taken his lumps this second go-round in months where the...

Breaking news: Niederhoffer still in business after market correction!

Check Barclay's today. Manchester's equity curve looks remarkably similar as I guess they are running very similar strategies.

Breaking news: Niederhoffer still in business after market correction!

Vic is certainly an interesting fellow. His rise and fall and rise have been interesting to follow, especially given his strategy and my interest in discerning its evolution. Given his May numbers, I have to question whether it has evolved all that much. Now, he may get it all back next...

S&P500 Options expiring on last trading day of the month

I hounded the CME about it more yesterday. Coincidentally or not, it appears all front month EOM futs opts have markets this morning. Looks good.

S&P500 Options expiring on last trading day of the month

Be careful with these EOMs. I'm not sure why the CME is not ensuring markets in some near the money contracts. With the Sept futures around 1270 - 1275 for much of the day, there was no market below 1305 for June EOM calls or above the 1260 puts. As someone who is now holding contracts where...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

I use IB. Institutions deal with proserve there. Overall the technology and service has been very good. Given the current move toward screen based trading, IB should be well positioned with solid technology in place going forward. Good Luck.

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Margin wise, yes it is a huge advantage as you get about twice as much margin if you are on BOTH sides of the market. The simplest example is an OTM naked call and an OTM naked put: with SPX you pay separate margin for each, with SPAN you esssentially only pay for one side. It has been a few...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Thanks... I think I've found the answer though. My issue was that IB was not filling ES spreads. I was getting purple quotes that were appearing to lock and then cross the market in my spread - like my order was invisible. The problem is that one cannot route to SMART with futures...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Do any of you guys use IB for SPX AND use the spread trader to place your orders? In other words, the order is displayed as a spread - with typically purple quotes representing existing MM size and the natural spread? I have a problem with the futures options spreads that I am discussing...

Breaking news: Niederhoffer still in business after market correction!

Wait a minute... trades several dozen times a day and average holding time is one to five days? This is the first time I have ever read this about Vic's strategy.

    Is Chairmen Bernake Incompetent?

And given the comments and paucity of high quality insight posted on the matter in this thread, do you really think those casting votes are in any position to be able to assess his performance? Right.

    Is Chairmen Bernake Incompetent?

Incompetent? You can't even spell his name. What qualifies you to make such an assessment, aside from reading a few news stories?
