HowardCohodas Index Options Credit Spread Trading Journal

I'm pretty sure Howard is using the ThinkOrSwim probability of touch calculation. It's not based on delta but on some other measurement, maybe statistical volatility and probability cones.

HowardCohodas Index Options Credit Spread Trading Journal

I misused the term "leg". I was considering a credit spread to be a "leg" into an IC but I know what you mean.

HowardCohodas Index Options Credit Spread Trading Journal

I know what you mean, but you're most likely talking about ICs that are put on all at once and left until expiry come hell or high water. I hate those as well. Howard's approach appears to revolve around credit spreads that are used to leg into ICs. I don't think he (correct me if I'm...

    Anyone looking at zsl

So you're holding these overnight? I was under the impression that these ultra-ETFs were pretty much for day trading only.

    SPY and ES

Not to mention the favorable tax treatment for futures in the US. If you day trade SPY, it's all short term cap gain. ES trading gets the favorable 60/40 long/short term cap gain treatment.

direct statistical trading a "clearly" defined approach by NTW31

There's more to it than that, at least more than in the diagram. Here's how I think of it in my head: "If price moves X pips from some starting point A to a point B, then it will continue Y pips to point C without returning to point A with a probability P." Nuke's initial analysis in...

    #$@^ing Resolvers

Hahahaha! The second I saw the subject I knew what the thread was about! I gave up the gym 3 years ago because I couldn't get on "my" treadmill during "my" time and started running.

    Replacing WealthLab

I was a long-term user of WealthLab and recently switched to AmiBroker (still evaluating). It's pretty capable and definitely a good value. At least worth a look.

    I Trade Fuckin Size

I'd characterize it as more like "being obtuse as usual". Is this guy legit or just another shyster?

    AAAintheBeltway honorary 2010 NFL thread.

Since this is the chit-chat section, I just want to go on record as saying that I absolutely hate professional sports in general and NFL football in particular.

APIs for technical indicators from IB

Not really. You have to use an external library like ta-lib to work on whatever backfill data you get from IB. I've done it and it's a pain. It's why I don't use indicators anymore.

    Favorite Single Malt

I can see another Talisker in my future. Very nice. But next on the list is Lagavulin. Michael Jackson's book rated it very highly. I have the wife talked into a Scotland trip. Should be great fun.
