    Where to Buy Physical Gold?

I'm not sure why you're hung up about gold bars. The American Gold Eagle 1oz coin isn't an "old coin" but recently minted, and is considered a standard unit of gold storage.

There are some guys in Russia selling gold bars for Bitcoins. :D

    Where to Buy Physical Gold?

Shoot my little town has a gold shop where I bought some gold coins. They sell new 1 oz coins in addition to antique coins and silver coins. They also have small bars of both gold and silver. You'd be surprised how many people come in wanting to buy so-called "junk" silver coins but...

Stevegee58's Option Trades: Road to Consistency

I meant the RUT 1005 June Call, not May. The delta yesterday never reached 25, however it's at 26 right now. So the rule is I try to roll up the Calls next trading day which is Monday.

    Bull put spread going DOTM

Well the decision of whether to buy back the spread or let it expire is generally based on probability and time to expiration. i.e. if it's far enough OTM you let it expire; if it's within the probability cone you buy back.

    Bull put spread going DOTM

Wait what? So it's a put credit spread you entered below the market? And the market moved up and away so it's now further OTM? If so buy back the whole thing not just the long. Your risk goes way up when you leave the short naked like that.

Stevegee58's Option Trades: Road to Consistency

I'm starting to feel the heat on the short RUT 1005 May Call with a delta of 24. It's more than 2 weeks until expiration so if the short Call delta crosses 25 I'll roll the call side up tomorrow. Obviously a down day would be welcome.

Israeli jets cross over into Lebanese airspace.

The Israelis have an aggressive and competent military. It's nice having someone in the region to do our dirty work for us. When it comes time to drop a bunker-buster bomb on the Iranians I'm sure it won't be a USAF plane that does it.

Soon it will cost $1 million to go to College

This is part of what's driving the growth of online degrees. They used to be a joke (and some still are) but are increasingly viable alternatives to brick and mortar college. Even if you think online degrees aren't as good as traditional college, the competition they create is real and...

    Another tax

That's a separate issue. We all know government spending is hideously wasteful but you still owe the money.

    Another tax

It isn't "another tax", it's a tax that people were legally obligated to be paying all along and weren't. The party's over so quit whining and pay up.

Stevegee58's Option Trades: Road to Consistency

That big up day on Friday has me on alert, but my short calls on NDX and RUT at still good for now. NDX 3075 June Call delta: 15 RUT 1005 June Call delta: 15

Stevegee58's Option Trades: Road to Consistency

RichardRimes: I don't use TA. It's all based on probabilities. The drumbeat to the upside that you mentioned caused me to have to roll up one time last month. JJacksET4: I hear you about blowing up. That's why I never really liked ICs until recently after some analysis. Really the...

Stevegee58's Option Trades: Road to Consistency

I've been trading real money Iron Condors on index options since January of this year and decided to start a Journal thread to capture my method and trades. I hope that by publishing my activity I can achieve some consistency. My method is not complicated and is my own mix of concepts from...

    Anyone Using ORB successfully?

Straight ORB just takes the breakout in either direction. Crabel added a bias to the ORB using bar patterns. So if the price pattern predicted an up move to be more likely he only took upside breakouts.

I'd only deal with issues like this after being profitable for at least a year. Otherwise it's just a mental masturbation exercise.

I want to buy some gold but I don't like to buy when things are going up

I always found the division between "trend traders" and "countertrend traders" kind of funny. Even trend followers are trading counter-trend on a lower time frame when buying dips. The only gold I own is a 1 oz golden eagle I bought in a local shop. I'm down about $100 bucks on that...
