    HFT Myths

I'm surprised no one's asked if you have a soul.

How safe are my funds with a (US) futures broker?

There are no guarantees. It's up to you to perform due dilligence on brokers before selecting one. Some are fly-by-night and others are conservative in terms of customer fund segration. Recall how back in 2008 money market funds nearly broke the buck. Most brokers sweep cash into money...

    Prediction of future stock movement?

If the IV were the same for both July and August then the price for July options on the same strike price would be less due to theta decay. Since July is higher priced clearly IV is higher in July than August. This means the market is predicting a large move between now and July expiry.

Swiss to let banks lift secrecy in US tax deal

Your talk of a "single World Central Bank" raised the hair on the back of my neck, that's all.

Swiss to let banks lift secrecy in US tax deal

Please let's not turn this into an Illuminati thread.

    Which system is better?

    Unless I messed up the math, system 2 has higher expectancy. System 1: expectancy = (0.6*1 - 0.4*1) = 0.2 System 2: expectancy = (0.03*100 + 0.57*1 - 0.38*1 - 0.02*100) = 1.19

Swiss to let banks lift secrecy in US tax deal

But wouldn't those restrictions have been in place all along, or are they more recent?

Swiss to let banks lift secrecy in US tax deal

"GENEVA (AP) — The Swiss government announced Wednesday that it will let banks circumvent the country's strict client secrecy laws as part of an effort to end a long-running tax evasion dispute with the United States."...

    Increasing Size During Drawdown

I'd be looking at adding to positions during a string of wins rather than losses.

    Keeping IB TWS up

I don't know what kind of trading you do but if you use IB Gateway instead of TWS I don't think it logs off at midnight.

    Keeping IB TWS up

If you use the 2 factor authentication (either the security code card or the fob) I don't believe either of those programs can relogin without your manual intervention.

which is more profitable to trade: ES NQ YM ?

The number of samples in your study (1) is probably insufficient for drawing any conclusions.

Does Interactive brokers guarantee execution of option strategy?

I trade smart-routed option spreads all the time with IB and I always enter and exit with limit orders between the bid and ask. I sometimes get partial fills where for example I try to enter 5 iron condors and only get filled initially on 2. The partials usually end up filling completely...

    Good Slope Equation?

(Not sure if serious) OK I'll bite. You take 2 adjacent samples of the indicator. If the first value is 2 and the next value is 3 then the slope between these points is 3-2=1 (assuming that 1 tick on the x axis is weighted with 1). If both values are 2 then the slope is 2-2=0 If I...

Geico Auto Insurance Won't Play Fair

I'm not sure what this has to do with "career trader" but I'll go with it. We had a lightning hit on our house last year. The biggest ticket item was the hot tub (fried electronics). It took over a year to get this settled after lies, threats, accusations of lying, etc. Finally had to...

    IB contingency planning

It sounds like you have enough money on the line that this is a real concern to you. If that's true then your statement about being "unable to get to my computer" doesn't make sense. IB has a mobile TWS that runs on every smart phone platform. I'd use that as my backup broker access before...

Trader - Paul Tudor Jones Video Is Back Online

I was gonna say. The PTJ documentary has been readily available for years all over the place. BTW it's not really that interesting.

Stevegee58's Option Trades: Road to Consistency

Any comments are welcome. I've discovered through banging my head against the wall that selling calls in a bull market is a bad idea. That said, I can't reliably predict what will happen in any coming month when I put on a trade. The bull market could end, right? Or at least take a pause...
