Help! These breakouts are killing me

I also used to lose money when I tried to predict market direction. The markets are set up so that most people lose.

Hey all you price predictors: when is a pullback gonna come?

Can you predict price from that chart?

Hey all you price predictors: when is a pullback gonna come?

I'm getting bored sitting on the sidelines. Question: Using your magic ability to predict price movement, whether it be indicators, fibonaccis, EW, harmonics, MAs, volume, or whatever other system you use, when will there be at least a 5% pullback in the S&P500?

1/18: No trades. @shopster, how do you know which extension fibs are going to go to ahead of time so you know how big of a position to leave on?

Which would you do in this trading situation

Demo trade it now and save your money for a year. Hopefully the market conditions haven't changed and it still works well in a year.

Has there ever been a single documented case of profitable live trades?

I post live calls in my journal every time I enter/close a position. I was profitable in 2011. But I'm not day trading so that probably doesn't count for what you're talking about in this thread.

    How do you figure that?

It depends on what the market does. If it steadily increases it will be different than if it chops back and forth, which will be different from if it does a 2008 style crash. Of course you can always follow this thread to see how I do in 2012 since I post everything in real time.

Thought we might be starting a retracement today with the gap down but price went up after that so back to waiting. Seems like the price to beat right now is $129.50 or so.

Here are a few options for an upcoming retracement. It depends on how aggressive or conservative you want to be. If there is no retracement and price continues to go up, that is no problem, either. But we will deal with that when it happens.

That was when I was day trading with OEC. If you've been following the thread you know I stopped day trading over a year ago. I withdrew most of the money from my OEC account and just kept a little in there to keep the account open. Do you want a Scottrade account statement now instead?
