UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Well that explains it all. I suspect it was the CME who blew him off. The SEC would have nothing to do with this..maybe the CFTC.

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

This whole story would make a great movie.....Oh the drama, the drama. I guess Nav cannot trade if he is in the hole $5M...that's too bad. I was hoping he would make a come-back by trading legit. He was a good trader without the spoofing tool that he had built. And it was a game...he gamed the...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Thanks for the feedback guys. I now wonder if I should write some code to detect the gaps and track the counts per day. Maybe I could then bring this up with the IQFeed tech support folks. I would find it hard to believe this could be an issue with the CME's data servers or order matching engine...

I've got ES,NQ,CL,RTY charting tick-level data. I have a 1 gigabyte router with a wired connection to my laptop which is quad core with 16 GB ram. Platform is written in multithreaded C/C++. I don't think it's the platform or the set-up.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Today's wild and wholly action caused my data feed (IQFeed) to occasionally show gaps in my 200 tick charts. In other words, the open of the current bar was not the same as the close of the previous bar. Now this would happen only when the current bar was forming, and then the gap would somehow...

I found it. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/29/flash-crash-trader-navinder-singh-sarao-sentenced-to-home-detention.html Good for Nav. But can he trade again ? Ah, he lost all / most of the money in his attempts to hide the profits. Still there could be a couple of million remaining for his access.

What happened to Melissa Lee on CNBC ?

I won't hold my breath.....I don't think you will get a straight answer. This seems to be a "hush, hush" situation. The powerful networks are not going to comply IMHO.

What happened to Melissa Lee on CNBC ?

There are also recommendations coming from the "Halftime Report" show which airs at noon on CNBC....as well as "Options Action" which airs on Friday at 5:30 pm. I am amazed that there is no one or no service tracking these recs.

Indeed, there is nothing in Google about a new baby for the real Melissa Lee whom I believe lives in NYC.

I don't know. I haven't audited them. Why don't you start an audit ....recommendations vs. actual results ? Warning: Audits are expensive time-wise.

What happened to Melissa Lee on CNBC ?

I watch Bloomberg too....I like their data-driven approach with the charts from the Bloomberg terminal. Still when it comes to interviews, CNBC is hard to beat.

What happened to Melissa Lee on CNBC ?

Ah - I never noticed. But wait, her bio indicates she was not married ? Could that be another reason for the "hush, hush" ?

There you go. We might never discover what happened to Melissa Lee...likely due to a non-disclosure agreement upon her termination.

What happened to Melissa Lee on CNBC ?

It's amazing how opaque these networks are. That's gotta be by design. Welcome to the powerful world of network media !!! Still no word on Melissa Francis, former anchor.
