How predictive is volume to index futures?

yeah, but for that duration, it's called NOISE. Trading NOISE ? That's known as scalping. It's not a bad approach, but just "looking" at volume on a chart along with price action is not smart IMHO....an indicator which COMBINES both of these if much "smarter"....and less subjective.

was today the top of the bear rally?

Ominous "spinning top" on the daily Nasdaq 100. This could be "it" for the bulls. They made a great run that fooled many.

    Sterling API Developer Thread

Totally agree...for realtime stuff COM is dumb...it's so sloooowww. Again, DLL calls are the way to go. Even Excel can handle DLL calls with callbacks. SOOOO....where oh where is Sterling's technical management on this issue of upgrading this old, old API ? Wow, the USA is starting to look...

What can a trader do as a secondary job to supplement income.

Or get some info tech training and get a job with Infosys or Tata or some other Indian outsourcing firm. Heck, you can then get to visit Bangalore for 6 months, and come back and make about $12 / hour - it's even better than McDonalds.

    Ninja Trade verses VectorVest

Actually, he did say "and/or"....and actually Vectorvest could help with the stock screening and Ninja as an execution platform is superb. Also, in the next version 7, it's likely to improve dramatically in the area of backtesting and analytics.

How predictive is volume to index futures?

All I did was express my opinion that building software using XML to express logic is a bad idea, that's all. That's why we have VB, Java, C#, Python, Ruby, Delphi ... each one with it's strengths and weaknesses. Based on your response, I would say you have some problems.

How predictive is volume to index futures?

Wow, Suddenly software development is moving backwards. Using XML for coding is not a great idea.

how did Szeven go from making 0/day to 5k/day in just 3 years?

Strange you said the above...that's EXACTLY is what is happening to MBAGearhead ! He's super consistent most of the time, but then WHAM, he gets clobbered for a monster-size loss. Even more strange, that loss happens about once every week or two.

Why isn't the market going down?

Wise. Compare that to the upcoming 5-10% per annum losses coming up for US equity holders.

    ER2 on ICE

Listen, this is total bullshit. Sharon Hruska-Brown, former CFTC chairperson/commissioner is responsible here. She approved of the CME/CBOT merger. And on what grounds ? MORE COMPETITION ? Where did she get her economics degree ? China perhaps. The day after the merger, the CME immediately...

    ER2 on ICE

Yes, it's now apparent the CME is foresaking the ER2 for the midcap and/or small cap 400 indices. Also, apparent: ICE will not be a viable competitor to the monstrous CME. So much for competition Hruska !

    ER2 on ICE

Wow - ICE better start getting the word out then. Look at this ANEMIC daily volume for the Russell 2000 emini contract on ICE: TF JUN08 200806 2516 20080506

Trade Station Data Problems today 5/6/08?

HANG IN THERE. Look, the Ninja people are good, the tech support is great...and they listen. They've built Ninja on a powerful dot-net platform that blows Java away. Version 7 of Ninja is coming up shortly and will most likely clobber the market.
