    Multi-chart Ripping Off Tradestation

This thread indicates glowing reviews for Multicharts. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=128806 However, I believe there were many "alternative" opinions and positions regarding the product's stability and efficiency. Can anyone summarize Multichart's shortcomings...

    TOS Charts

Very strange indeed as I believe a lot of the code is shared between the web-based app and the standalone desktop....as that's one big advantage of using Java. I would contact linwoodma@thinkorswim.com - he's like a QA manager of sorts. I have a funny feeling this data problem is...

    Esignal is so frustrating

Interesting....I once was a user of QCharts. So it appears ESignal bot them out only to reduce the competition and to move the user base to their base platform. Wow, the market for trading software and tools is really dangerous right now.

    NinjaTrader on W2K

Well done. I've always been a fan of lean, mean W2k for trading applications. XP is a terrible O/S for trading unless you've got the latest hardware. Even then, W2k is comparable in efficiency even with a 3 year old processor. Next up: XP with SP3. It "may" improve things a bit....we'll see.

Dennis Gartman predicts massive waves of selling in commodities

But if the economy tanks to the point of low demand for everything, then he will be correct: DEFLATION/DEPRESSION COMING UP NEXT. We're rockin and rollin because of past monetary and fiscal mistakes. Much more to come. Dow at 9k ? Very possible.

Are you saying that includes ES, NQ, YM....or what symbols specifically ?

Best way to recover from a big losing day??

Step 2: hire a mentor who is amenable to trading performance "collars" and threshholds, etc. IOW...someone who knows the trading game well.

Can you share your IB test account ?

NO ONE ? Wow - no one is using their live account then ?

    TOS Charts

Interesting...as of 2 months ago, I rarely saw data problems with TOS Charts.I wonder if they are getting many new subscribers that are taxing their chart servers now ? I have a feeling that TOS Charts is using Interactive's COMSTOCK wholesale data service which has never been that fast or reliable.

Can you share your IB test account ?

Would anyone be willing to share their userid and password for the test account ? I would not be monopolizing it, but I need to test their new API. I also need to quickly test a new strategy I've conjured-up recently. DTN's IQFeed charges for their API and OpenTick is in limbo at the moment...

    The Surf Report

Great call Surf...let the YM countdown begin: 13k 12k 11k 10k 9k !! Boomer panic when 11k is taken out.

    Philly Market Profile traders

We tried this last year with limited success. Best location now may be Penns Landing. "JBingo" also interested.

    Programming?

C# and dot-net are now "de rigeur". The Ninja Trader platform is just one example. Powerful and flexible....good for intraday swing trading systems. However, for high frequency scalping type of systems, and any systems using Level II data, C++ is the only way to go IMHO.

    Multi-chart Ripping Off Tradestation

Indeed Mark Brown, any and everything related to Tradestation should now be a "laugh" as the Cruz Brothers have made it a shadow of it's past.

LOL who hates Dennis Kneale? Gotta see this

Interesting. Business Week just had an article about how this recession has affected the male unemployment rate more than the female....by a great margin. Basically: women getting hired, men getting fired.

    H-1b

Honor ? I don't think this country will ever be able to attach itself to that word again. The above is so telling about these so called "laws": "...actually don't mean much" "...nobody actually checks" "...there is no enforcement" This tells me our entire Congress is a fraud...they make...

when do you take a loss on the iron condor?

You might want to ask member "jbingo" that very question. He's been "there" before. He put one on right before the GOOG earnings announcement. No time to react. Position quickly went to the maximum position loss....and stayed there.

EBAY Changes Feedback System- Sales about to Plummet?

Besides Craigslist, which I consider marginal, what other competitors to Ebay exist ? None ? I thought the web was all about competition and free choice, etc, etc. ? Or has it become socialistic like our society ?

    H-1b

Couple the above with the fact that many prop traders are former engineers, technical people, and programmers who lost their jobs to H1-b initiatives. Given that fact I would say the chances are very slim indeed.
