SAUDI ARABIA RUNNING OUT OF OIL

Saidi Arabia accomplishes a lot with $30 oil. US energy independence will not be allowed with the tensions in the Middle East. Can you imagine $28 oil , a low US rig count and ISIS knocking at the Saudi door? Who's youre daddy? Two years the situation will ease cause Hillary will be fixin...

    2015 Guesses for GLD

See if we get a nice risk on week and gold still acts relatively strong. Yen, long US treasury and sp500 setting up for that obernight as we speak.

EUR/CHF wipeout/margin call ... negative balance ... what to do?

Hasnt every IB customer trading leveraged products had to state liquid net worth in writing? I would surmise that if losses exceed stated liquid net worth then you are off the hook for the difference. Otherwise pay up.

Did Interactive Active Brokers Honor CHF Stops Thursday ?

Why is USD dollars continuously becoming increasingly more expensive to the Swiss as the peg continued a problem? This was one of many reasons i read as to why the peg was dropped. Seems the same problem is present across many currencies in the world.

Is this the end of the Bearish Gold

Would someone in the know comment on why Jan1st started the move in gold. A sample of two is not valid but it was Jan1 2014 that the 20 year US treasury behaved the same and never looked back.

    2015 Guesses for GLD

Doesn't anyone think that gold is acting better in 2015? Can gold price rise with global deflation and a rising dollar. Nah, it cant go up.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

I dont think at all that Yellin is thinking QE4 . Buy more bonds? Fed stayed the course through taper. It is oil, ECB, Japan, China's turn for 2015 stimulus to offset peripheral weakness (to US that is). Rumor is Germany will nod to asset purchases? If things correct then FED pushing off 2015...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Only a central bank can stop a correction. They will say something and thats all it takes for Ignition. Earnings/GDP/spending.......who cares. FUBAR. Look at long treasury bond. Is there only about 5 or 6 in circulation? Or, is demand high?

Relative etf's (buy something with something else)

I read on ET and elsewhere of the virtues of spread trading. This example (see charts) is trend trading a spread of emerging market vs. Aus. dollar. It is not at all mean reversion trading on cointergrtated and correlated legs. It is generating performance ( Alpha? ) by trading continued...

    SpreadProfessor Clients - Thanks !

A small improvement in capital efficiency would be a limit order in a DITM, reasonably liquid (and there is the rub) option on the "primary" leg , and, when filled a market order on an ETF or equity all in a sinfle order. Straight out of Trader13 playbook. Seems though that you cant go too...

    SpreadProfessor Clients - Thanks !

One final thought. If i use IB's combo trader and get a bid/ask of .239/.240,for example, on a SPY/QQQ spread, i dont know if i am getting NBBO on each leg or getting screwed. Wished they presented the bid/ask of each leg seperately along with this spread calculation. Thanks.

    SpreadProfessor Clients - Thanks !

Bone, IB's combo trader has you accept the " no garauntee" checkbox. I assume this will most often (i have trust issues) fill you with a single leg of the spread. Am I wrong about this regarding custom ETF vs. Compoment, SPY vs. sector type spreads? Thanks.

    Is day trading worth it?

For those, like myself, who truly dont know the answer to this question, i envision two charts side by side. One, a weeks worth of a 5 minutes data, the other an eodd chart of similar length. Discerning between the two may be difficult, there is opportunity present in each chart. How can it...

    Predictions and Coin Flips

Seems for the last 120 trading days , or so, that Europeans, Japanese, Canadians, Brazilians, Russians, Austrailians and others with declining currencies have an advantage over an account denominated in USD. Regular folk in the US have have not done well owning the SP500 index. US treasuries ...

long term position trading -primarily etf's-

Fine and true sentiment in the last paragraph. I have similar interests in etfs. I cant keep up with individual stocks but i may "borrow" a pick or two from this journal if you dont mind. Low stress, longer terrm trades is my goal for the year. I am going to order riskarb007's book who posts...
