1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I hope you really enjoy your Republican-induced suckage that will inevitably come your way. Suckage from the left and suckage from the right, it's hard to get my bearings straight. Neither party has any financial clue what the hell they are doing which has been demonstrably proven over the last...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Oh yes! Yes! Hallelujah! Republicans are so much better than Democrats I can't wait! No wait a second, they are both terrible. 4 more years of suck pretty much no matter who is in office.

Is IB's action subject to SEC or US Law?

You need to research the ramifications of being on margin before you do it. The fact that you are surprised at what happened makes you look unprepared and ignorant.

Man Receiving Unemployment Benefits Refuses Over A Dozen Job Offers

Pelosi needs to be booted ASAP. Everything that comes out of her mouth is an embarrassment.

    HFT orders revealed

Ok, maybe. But then these people would not be able to trade that symbol at all if they just turned off all the quotes for it. Can you tell your quote provider to filter based on some buyer or seller id associated with a quote? I didn't think that information even existed.

    HFT orders revealed

Still have to filter them. You still have to devote CPU power to ignoring them. They will be coming through your quote feed whether you like it or not.

    HFT orders revealed

But that is precisely the problem. If you create quotes with lots of orders and you rely on a quote provider for your quotes, you are going to be receiving the same quotes you are dumping to the market. So you will have to filter them too. This theory seems ridiculous to me.

    HFT orders revealed

Yes, so the theory that people are doing this to slow competitors down seems to be hogwash. More likely is that two or more algorithms are interacting with each other in bizarre and unpredictable patterns.

    Bizarre robot traders

If this posting rule is absurd, isn't limiting the speed at which a computer trades absurd as well? It seems like you favor any rule that makes only your life easier/better/more convenient/more profitable.

    HFT orders revealed

They would have to process their own quotes too. I bet filtering them would take about as much time as just doing some numerical calculations with them.

IB - Booktrader 906 no more single click!

I thought I read somewhere else where a judge specifically ruled that this would still fall under "single click" trading. So adding Ctrl or Alt to the input sequence doesn't change whether the method infringes on the patent.

Weekly Poll: The Three Month Anniversary Of Cramer's "6 months to Prosperity Call"

Cramer has so many conflicting calls that he can point to any one of them and say "he nailed it." For example, "take your money out of the market for 5 years!" followed by "buy this market!" a few months later. He should have zero credibility by now, but somehow his TV show survives. His buy the...

hey HFT scum, yeah, you. Watch this

How about intead of using limit orders that HFTs can apparently front-run, you put in limit orders with discretionary offsets such that you will hit anything up to your true limit price?

hey HFT scum, yeah, you. Watch this

Just because you can't trade against these HFTs without bitching doesn't mean you have to take it out on others.

hey HFT scum, yeah, you. Watch this

Cramer is such a freaking idiot along with the idiot senator he had on the show. HFTs make the bid/ask spread for me much tighter. Just because you are having problems trading against the HFTs does not make them "bad" as they are portrayed in this video segment. Again, I would like to reiterate...

High frequency traders literally printing money!!! LITERALLY PRINTING MONEY!!!!

This is all just conjecture. If I were in a position that was going against me, I don't want artificial constraints preventing me from eliminating risk. The whole idea that circuit breakers help anything is an unproven farce.

    I've been robbed

No can do. And I still consider busting unfair in all situations. Have the idiot who gets a bust pay a fine to the person they busted on, or assign a more reasonable but still painful value for the trade. The way it stands is complete rubbish and no matter what you say won't make a difference to...
