Bubble ben bernanke says "LOW RATES "WON'T" STOKE INFLATION"

Exactly. Trying to manage an economy is impossible to begin with. Abolish the Fed.

Bubble ben bernanke says "LOW RATES "WON'T" STOKE INFLATION"

Whoever says there is no inflation needs to get a clue. Bernanke will go down as the 2nd worst Fed head after Greenspan.

GM's tax break worth as much as $45 billion

On second thought, the tax break thing doesn't really bother me that much because GM would have to make a profit for the tax break to works its magic. Considering its history, that won't happen.

GM's tax break worth as much as $45 billion

The real question is how the hell does GM get to keep its tax breaks *after* bankruptcy. That is not normal (and very irritating).

    End Of Liberty documentary

Not worth watching unless you are a paranoid lunatic. The most rational points come at the end of the film but a lot of it is just fear mongering; ironic since one of their central themes is how the government likes to control us with fear.

NYSE Breaks Trades of S&P 500 ETF Showing 9.6% Plunge

There is a simple way to punish people who make fat finger mistakes and that is to have all trades stand. If you don't double check your prices, you deserve to lose your money. No bustable trades period. Only then will people learn not to be idiots.

Why Does IB Still Not Offer ECN Pegged Orders?

Do you know if ECNs charge more for you to enter an ECN pegged order versus a normal limit order?

Why Does IB Still Not Offer ECN Pegged Orders?

Just guessing but a RELATIVE order that "rolls back" in price would increase the potential number of modifications per order to an unacceptable level given that the RELATIVE order has the same commission structure as other IB orders. I.e., IB wants to keep its costs down and having an order type...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Plus, you know that if a FTT come to fruition, politicians will simply start raising the % on the fee whenever they feel like they need more money to dick around with.

$800K of Stimulus to Teach AFRICAN's How to Wash Their Penis!

It is not a religious concept, but it is tied with some religions as their sole method of birth control/prevention of STDs. Anyone with half a brain would know that only teaching abstinence is destined to fail but that is what religious nutjobs want. Therefore, I would much rather spend money...

$800K of Stimulus to Teach AFRICAN's How to Wash Their Penis!

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I'd much rather waste $800k on willy washing techniques than to spend a single dime on methods that are religious based, are known to be ineffective, and actually harm people.

$800K of Stimulus to Teach AFRICAN's How to Wash Their Penis!

And yet this is a drop in the bucket compared to other forms of governmental waste. I would much prefer they spend more on scientific research, no matter how stupid it is, compared to some of the crap that comes out of DC.

hey HFT scum, yeah, you. Watch this

How about once you transmit an order, you cannot cancel or move your order for "n" milliseconds. I would guess a value of n = 1000 would almost eliminate any problems caused by HFTs. Colocation could still be employed and there would be no throttling of quote data.
