IB and Etrade giving informations to accountants/auditors ??

It sounds like you are trying to satisfy a regulator. Figure out the standard you need to meet and then present the numbers you need to meet it in a format that satisfies the requirements. It is your presentation. Auditors are there to verify what you present not tell you what to present...

    Facebook IPO

Why would any syndicate manager market a big, aggressive IPO at the wrong time? Their job is not to predict conditions as they will exist in three months but to market the issue under favorable conditions as the deal breaks. They have no need to catch the top of the wave ... but they do like...

    Facebook IPO

Isn't the real question whether it is an interesting stock to trade. I presume that most of us trade all sorts of crap that is overvalued. I assume that the intrinsic value of most of the currencies I trade is zero. If I take 10 ticks out of E6 in the AM and 14 more after lunch do I care...

Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

I assume you can adapt his methods to any liquid futures instrument and not just to other FOREX pairs? I like Al's work but Bar by Bar in particular was hard reading. A simplified Al Brooks sounds like heaven. Thanks for the recommendation.

    DepressionLetter.Com

My primary interest is in finding someone with a burning desire to become a talking head -- say like Gartman -- who appears on CNBC to promote his newsletter and is seeking a .com as a vehicle to do that. I may end up simply selling the names but my preference is to joint venture with someone...

Any of you making $5k-10k per day??

PS ... having a goal of becoming profitable after a year or two and building toward bigger numbers is more realistic than thinking about 5 or 10K a day.

Any of you making $5k-10k per day??

Of course it is not impossible but it is a lot more difficult to put up numbers like that than it is to create a fantasy on a board by claiming you are a seven figure per year trader. In case you have not noticed most on here have never "stepped foot" on Wall Street and are independent...

Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

I know nothing about Mr. Hoffman, his webinar, methodology etc. But I do know that the percentage of an account he blows in any given day is totally irrelevant to whether he is a good trader. If he has put together a significant net worth based on his years of trading -- say $10,000,000 -- and...

So you are the guy destroying my liquidity in the viagra contract ... lol.

    IB Futures Commissions & Fees

Isn't the equation always volume dependent? For a small trader who does a couple of hundred contracts a month setting up with IB and throwing Ninja into the mix with a Kinetick feed ($110 or less per month total) works just fine. To me, even if you leave $20 or so a month on the table, the...

if I win far more than I want

Listen to TskTsk since they are correct ... it probably will pass. But, if what you have experienced, turns out to be the norm in your trading you will have the ideal problem confronting you. Cope with it when it is reality. Advance planning is more appropriate when you feel you need to...

    DepressionLetter.Com

If I were to market something that related to the sinkingdollar URL I would use gold as the benchmark or more probably position it as reporting on the overall demise of fiat currency which is where the headlines are likely to turn once rampant inflation rears its ugly head. I suspect the...

    DepressionLetter.Com

I have owned three URL's since 2009: depressionletter.com doomsdayletter.com sinkingdollar.com If anyone has an idea on how to monetize one or all of them I will be happy to discuss a joint venture or outright sale. I am willing to commit capital to back the right idea but only with a...

Strategy/method with high percentage of losers

A polite and well reasoned few pages of thread. I'll have to look elsewhere ... LOL.

Strategy/method with high percentage of losers

I think your comment is a fair one in terms of my ability to see the probabilities. It is way above my pay grade and beyond my capability. I did not mean to suggest i saw it. But I do not think it is hindsight bias to say that we have seen those who leave context -- particularly cultural...

Strategy/method with high percentage of losers

Just to be clear it is not that I think LTCM's demise was predictable but I think the possibility of disaster there was much easier to see than many pretend. What is amazing is that the amounts at risk seem quaint today ... lol.

Strategy/method with high percentage of losers

I agree with much of what you say about swan events and the statement below is dead on accurate. But the problem with their model is that it was, although constructed by brilliant men, quite naive at its very core. Everyone knows that Russia had been a gangster society for the 70 years of...

IB and Etrade giving informations to accountants/auditors ??

What you describe is at the heart of the audit process ... at least by US GAAP standards. Auditors do not prepare your books but they do spot check with outside sources (banks, brokers etc.) that what you have represented is indeed accurate.

How would you run a stock up?

Beyond the title I can't really be of much help. Are you considering stock promotion as a trade?

Strategy/method with high percentage of losers

It was totally expected and in fact the US was put on "credit watch" some months earlier which is how a credit rating agency gives the world a heads up.
