Could You Too Be A Daytrader?

<i>"he enters a deep meditative state. He is only aroused by seven consecutive cups of coffee and then he begins trading...."</i> northern lights x skunk cross, well dried, just add water. Said to help manage any pain, some say enhances the meditative state.

    Am I overleveraged?

<i>"All of my equities are in LONG. I don't like shorting."</i> Sooner or later, your long-only portfolio will be either sideways or drawn down for some period of time. If you attempted to live off such a strategy from early 2000 thru late 2002, the results would be dire. You aren't...

    90% Profitable Setup

A sincere congrats to Alex and PT gang for the levels of success you have demonstrated. It is obvious from the numerous feedback reports here that what you are doing works. <b>ColinWilson</b> will be pleased to know he has many subjects to interview as requested before. Looking forward to...

$1 million lottery ticket for sale

<i>"ps. Hope those pups and lovely lady are doing fine AP."</i> Same as always, Bill... wild, naughty and pawing at me day & night. That pretty much describes the puppies, too

$1 million lottery ticket for sale

About an hour ago I stopped uptown at the local mini-mart for my daily diet coke and unsweetend iced tea drinks. Wayne was in front of me at the counter checking results on a ticket for last night's NY Lotto drawing. Guess he's hoping lightening strikes twice. I didn't recognize him at...

    Is The rasputin index???

Once again, more doom & gloom predictions for the U.S. and its economy. When will these people realize it's different this time? The Fed can print free money until the end of time. US consumers will never falter. Who needs savings, anyway? With a bottom in real estate speculation, the...

    Um not a big dead

<i>"All bubbles end badly. History reaffirms that rule time and time again."</i> Except for those of us who work the short side with equal aplomb. :D

    Um not a big dead

<i>"This is the time to buy."</i> Who are you trying so hard to convince? Go ahead and buy if you wish... all your account can handle, if you believe so strongly. You don't need anyone else behind you. If this is another great buying opportunity for you, good luck!

    Marekt Weakness- here is why ;;;;;;

<i>"Once we melt up to the point where everyone is in, then you can talk about shorting"</i> How do you know when that is? Accelerated volume, perhaps... like we saw on Friday?

    Woodies CCI

<i>"...patterns which repeated in all markets, in all time-frames, by all units of measurement. If you take away that concept alone and build on it you might be able to accomplish the first task."</i> Pattern recognition aka "feel" is a learned skill. That type of cognizance develops thru...

    Price/Volume Relationship

<i>"This guy is nuts..."</i> I make it a rule to avoid personal discussions here, sticking to relevance of trading. However, let me diverge from that for a moment. Anyone who reads some of Jack's writing should be able to see high intelligence behind those thoughts. Genius comes expressed...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Short, long... who gives a (darn)? All I care to focus on is averaging +3pts or better ER per session, and find out how many contracts are the limit before slippage is an issue. 20-lot is ok during normal volume, more during higher volume. Do the math from there. If it's on the long side...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

C'mon T280... what would we have to keep us mentally sharp these days without this thread? I say we all gather for a tall one (cold for me) in Aussie and spend some of our musty money in your beautiful country. Got room for everyone here over there?

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

<i>"It's not about you, it's about the ones that don't post"</i> There are actually other people reading this stuff? I thought it was just us from 100 pages ago! I've been short-term trading since Dec 1999 and intraday trading ER since June 2004. I know better than to have a bias of any...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Seriously, this is the first day I've started crowding trailed stops at +2pt gains. All year I've held for +4pt ~ +5pt swings and missed out on tons of money, up and down. Normally I would have left the short open midday and checked on it past 1:00pm est. That would have been +10pts, instead...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

The short side is so scary... I'm waiting for some of that free money, 100% zero risk stuff to come along. Where is eqtrdr (waxie?) when I need him to call the next buy point?
