Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

<i>"The current P/E ratio of S&P 500 is the lowest in the last 10 years, making the stocks very inexpensive. "</i> That is fundamentally true. So, why aren't the indexes rallying hard on rising volume each time they break to new highs? Where are all those long-term investors trampling each...

<i>"The current P/E ratio of S&P 500 is the lowest in the last 10 years, making the stocks very inexpensive. "</i> Sure they are... based on layoffs, downsizing, outsourcing, M/E and stock buybacks. When earnings reflect organic internal growth & sales instead of accounting smoke &...

What advantages does NQ over ES ?

ES is same as ZB these days: limited range, heavy chop inside the range. When markets are trending or normal up/down intraday swings, ES offers plenty of potential. When the range is 6pts intraday, the chop is killer. NQ has a lot less of that, due to 1/10th liquidity of ES. Big-money bot...

What advantages does NQ over ES ?

NQ makes many more straight line swings than ES does. The smaller a chart used, the more apparent this is. Most scalpers I know prefer the NQ above all else right now. ES is arguably the worst short-term trading symbol, it gets faded to death inside almost every swing.

    Scalping Index futures

These days with choppy, sideways, go-nowhere tapes I average roughly six turns per session. On pace this morning... long +1pt ER, long -1pt ER, short 812.30 open w/price action 810.30 now. If this one makes +4pts or better on its close, done for the day. Best days, biggest profits usually...

    Woodies CCI

My friend trades nimbly, seeking +5pt NQ gains using -2.5pt initial stops... sometimes exits for +2.5pts or even +1pt on the lot. He turns 10 - 20 contracts at a time with nil slippage. The NQ has roughly twice volume - open interest as ER, and it also has the most straight-line movement with...

    Woodies CCI

Yes, I agree. Trading 10-lots ER averaging +1pt per day will meet anyone's reasonable ends, if you ask me.

    Woodies CCI

Well, for comparison sake, I have a friend who trades the NQ intraday and averages roughly +20pts per session. That is +$400 per contract average. Today he only managed +11pts, but some other days he banks +25 to +30pts. This guy is just a home-based trader, unknown and happy to remain...

    Woodies CCI

My note was not to diminish Woodie's success in any way, at all. I have a lot of respect for him and all he's done in life. The only question I asked was if an average daily gain of +$150 per ER contract was considered unusual or extreme performance. Obviously, most emini traders would think...

<i>"Yea, it's really crappy trading 5 lots in the er and only netting 15-20k per month. I sure hope I can continue to pay my bills on 200k per year before taxes. LOL..."</i> Being net profitable in any symbol for any amount is an acheivement in itself. Not to diminish that feat in the...

    Woodies CCI

<i>"I mean if he's making 5000 a month on two ER2 contracts, you do the math."</i> Is +25pts ER contract per month, +6pts per week, +1.5pts daily supposed to be something monumental to achieve?

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

<i>"maybe it'll go back up"</i> But not forever. When the time comes that dips have no bottom, plenty of traders new to the game since 2005 will be in for a real learning experience.

    Am I overleveraged?

<i>"You know me exactly!"</i> Yourself... and countless 1,000s of others positioned exactly the same. That's why the next real correction will be violent... erasing many traders (small and huge) who are loaded up on the long side with no room for heat. Normal market action is up & down...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

<i>"it's likely that whoever wanted to sell did it then "</i> Likewise, everyone who wants to be long is filled to the gills right now. That's why breakout attempts get sold into rather than continuing upward on accelerated volume. The longs are fully loaded to their gunwales. Every now &...
