If you go to the newsgroup make sure you clarify what the problem is (ie: Windows seems to hang on the shutting down screen, or you end up with the "It is safe to turn your computer off" screen).

I am normally a big fan of do-it-yourself, but in this case I suspect PlumLazy is correct. I know my way around computers pretty well, and it still takes me about 8 hours if I do a major system change (like swap mainboards) and reinstall all the software. A lot of this you can do yourself...

Doh! Forgot to add check the refresh rates on the card and the monitor. I presume you already know about brightness and contrast controls.

Try the monitor on another computer to make sure it's not fuxored. Update yer drivers. If this doesn't help (and you get no better help here) go to www.sharkyextreme.com and ask for help in the forums. Also try the forums over at www.anandtech.com.
