Min memory and speed requirements for trading system

You've got a baseline on the system you used in the office, so start from there. If you are a pro (ie supporting yourself and your family by trading) then you do not need one broadband - you need two. You can buy a router to hook up your LAN (that's geekspeak for the network inside your house)...

    A day trading system

Cool, then you have a way to estimate slippage. Check the numbers from your "paper" system to what your actual trades were.

Those would be ten minute bars, Bob111. :D

    A day trading system

OK, so for the latest batch of numbers, your average per round trade gross (before commissions) is exactly 47.85. Strange that an exact number comes up like that. But anyway, if you use IB, you'll pay 20 bucks in com per round trade, so your net is 27.85. As a general rule, I'm leery of any...

Perfect forecast of SP500 since 2 months

I encourage you to post your free report that you'd like to share. Got some suggestions for you. First post them all in one thread - makes it easier for folks to discuss your reports and find the latest one. If somebody starts posting a new thread for each day it gets pretty confusing...

Perfect forecast of SP500 since 2 months

This is precisely what ET needs more of, thank you. I am of course, a bit critical (as all traders should be), but I will watch with interest. Of course, I am referring to the posts by the author of this thread, not the spam in the previous post by MarketMariner.

    True Story

. . . (true story). He wakes up after a pretty drunken night, gets ready for work and can't find his car. Turns out it was stolen. Finally gets to work, and finds out the software division is closing it's doors (place called KByte - I used to work there). At the bar that afternoon (there...

How Long is Your Ignore List?

The easiest way is to wait until you see a post by them. Then, click on their name to the left, then click on "Add (so and so) to your ignore list." You can also go to your account page, and Edit your ignore list to add them manually.

Baron on Radio Today @ Noon EST

Good job, Baron. Next time time though, tell 'em that this is a messageboard or something, not a freaken chatroom. :D

So, this "Trading room" is a great place to get information on "Chat rooms" and stocks. LOL.

    Becoming Gordon Gekko

See the thread entitled: "closing my trading account today" at http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18643 where GG says: ". . . i know a couple months ago i started a similar thread . . ." What'd that old geezer say? "There's nothing new in the markets" or...

Hmmm, I don't see any tightening:

    Rate Cut 1/2 or 1/4

Put me in the 1/4 point boat as well. Check out http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h6/Current/ The one week average of M1 has declined two weeks in a row. The one week average of M2 has barely grown over this last week and M3's one week has fallen. Imagine the horror if the Fed...

    freezing computer and matrox

How do you know it's OEM? There has been some discussion of those particlular cards, and apparently I may be running one. If I am running one, I suggest you use the drivers that came with XP, mine works fine.

    LCD screens

They are easier on the eyes, generate less heat (helpful if you have a lot of them in the summertime), and take up a lot less desk space. There are two downsides, IMO. First is they cost more. Secondly, you cannot get one that displays at the really high resolutions of the big CRTs (+1600)...

How Long is Your Ignore List?

You gotta earn the right to be on my Ignore list. :D It's pretty easy to do though. Just go read posts until you see one that says things you would never say to somebody else face-to-face. Then, emulate that poster. EDIT: Ahh, I see you sort of disagreed with me over at that SCOTUS/UofM...

How Long is Your Ignore List?

Yeah, that's essentially part of the point I'm hoping to make. ET was an awesome resource early last year, and is much less today. Perhaps this poll will suggest to management that Ignore is not much of a help.
