If 80% lose why you think you can make it?

Actually I don't get to hang with intelligencia anymore, sad to say. But I am pretty good friends with a few traders now. :D

    How many ways to lose?

There are as many ways to lose as there are rays on the Sun.

If 80% lose why you think you can make it?

Hey show up to T-Rex's challenge. I'm planning to be there, although I already know I ain't gonna be the star.

Bully On The Playground! (ego Challenge)

I'm not going to say anything about this one certain person whom I am sure will smack down a lot of folks - but I advise all watchers to have a big bottle of Rolaids on hand. You would not believe that this one person's style can consistently make money, and your nerves will be on edge while...

If 80% lose why you think you can make it?

In a nutshell, my reason is that I rock. My IQ is 140 (as objectively tested - 138 and 142). I see things quicker and learn faster than nearly everybody I ever met. I achieved success as a computer programmer frankly without even trying. Trading offers considerably more challenge...

    IB Data???

With huge deference to Def (whom I hope IB pays extra for all the good work he does here at ET), IB is not a data provider (in spite of their 10 buck charge or whatever it is). However, it would indeed be useful if IB had this data as a backup to my current data source.

Thanks to everybody for the discussion and especially for the links to many interesting articles.

    IB API (again....)....

LOL no worries. I've been 100% wrong before on this board as well, and expect to be so again. That was indeed a rumor that was floating around. I apologize if I was a tad harsh - it's past me bedtime and all. Good trading to you in the morrow.

    IB API (again....)....

Nope. I hit the buy button three times today on my VB.Net app and TWS bought for me (three times) with no interaction. After each, it sold for me three times at the press of one button on my VB app. The TWS API is blazingly simple. Just don't use it as some sort of tick-level quote feed.

    Econ Forum: The Tightening Begins

Look at the one week averages on M1-M3, expansion has stopped, and tightening has started. It's very early, and may be only a minor thing - the Fed could easily revert to it's expansionist ways on Monday. But it's very curious in light of the Fed's recent comments about deflation still being a...

    Econ Forum: The Tightening Begins

Well Uncle Al is tightening. Who woulda thunk he'd start pre-election? Not I. For details, go see: http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h6/Current/ He's trying to keep it somewhat of a secret, saying that "deflation remains a threat", but his actions are clear. So, I have three...

POLL...Best API for for IB order entry...

I'd just like to pull an anal, and point out that an API is an Application Programming Interface, and not what this poll is about. Y'all are discussing User Interfaces (UIs), AKA Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), AKA front ends. It's just me, but I keep clicking on these threads looking for a...

    API's

I know you mentioned that this was from Excel, and not from VB.Net, but it's kinda strange that VB->ActiveX->TWS works perfectly, but Excel->ActiveX->TWS does not, and is apparently sigificant work (by IB) to support. One would expect that if these were not identical, then they would be nearly so.

    Democrats are hypocrites

There are indeed signs that guns live at certain houses. Funny thing is, they make those houses safer. Would you rob a house with deer racks over the entrance, and shotgun shells lying on the ground, or pick the liberal neighbor (named Tampa) who refuses to own a gun? Of course being a...

    Democrats are hypocrites

Wow, dunno how you can be a success as a trader without a fundamental understanding of free markets. I mean, this is a no-brainer, big time. Imagine a society that says transportation should be free to all. I realize this causes a conflict in the liberals heart, a free thing, but one that...
