    Buffet

Yeah. I'm not sure if I should move this thread to trading or chit chat, but it clearly does not belong in Econ. EDIT: After review, it's clear that it was posted in the right forum to begin with IMO (the poster was apparently hoping to discuss Econ), but devolved to a discussion about...

On Hold For 30 Minutes With Ts

I tried email once, LOL. Took months. But that was a couple years ago. My questions usually get answered in one business day over at TSWorld. Maybe we used different forums? I used TS Support as I recall.

On Hold For 30 Minutes With Ts

I've generally gotten better results from TradeStationWorld than from calling or emailing. But it does take some time.

Now that was pretty funny. :D

TGregg I wait for an answer about my hacked post !

First off, filling a post with random characters would be a violation of policy here at ET. But if I were to do something that childish, it'd at least have a little more humor in it. Can't think of anything good right now, too busy getting ready for the open - it'd be something like a subtle...

Et Need To Become A Paying Site

Don't make me delete yer post. :D Baron pretty much leaves the forums up to the individual judgement of the particular forum mods, as far as I can tell. And it has to be subjective. Should you wish to debate that, I encourage you to develop non-objective rules and ping Baron with them. I'm...

Et Need To Become A Paying Site

Problem is, some of those threads that are off-forum-topic are interesting. And it'd be a shame to dump them to write-only memory. It doesn't matter that Chit-Chat does not have a sponsor, the whole board gets the hit rate.

Et Need To Become A Paying Site

Silicon Investor used to be fee based (with free access for clients of certain brokers). Not sure about their current status.

Et Need To Become A Paying Site

Chit Chat is useful to me (as a mod) as a place to dump threads that have either wandered off topic, or never were on the forum topic to begin with. Advertising pays for all this, and eyeballs are one of the things the sponors like (I think anyway - I'm completely seperate from the business...

2 Hard drives on same computer

Thanks. I'm considering doing this, now that I realized I can just use a faceplate on one of my bays rather than cutting a hole in my case. I just gotta remember how switches are named, so I get the right one. :D

Massive US trade deficit - Recipe For Disaster

While I share some of your opinion for possible reasons for delay, it seems unlikely they plan to hold the truth until November.

If trading's not leisure, why be a trader?

I was just thinking yesterday that (as far as I know) there is no other profession where the only thing that matters is how good you are at trading. Perhaps gambling, but the soft skills involved in that are much harder to master for me. Every other job contains an "impression" factor...

    Who is Woodie???

While his room apparently is free, Hotcomm charges $25/month (after a 7 day free trial). One year subscription is $160.

2 Hard drives on same computer

That's an awesome idea. I've always wanted to play games on my trading computer. I could have one drive for trading, and one for other stuff. After a hard day of trading and it's time to blow away some aliens, I power down, swap drives, and fire it back up - ready to go. And no, as far as...

2 Hard drives on same computer

My guess is he has a fairly high end PC that he uses to trade, and would also like to put other stuff on it, apps and games. It'd be nice to keep those two seperate, one drive is strictly trading, and the other has all the other things like Word, Excel, Bill and Ted's Most Excellent Trader...

2 Hard drives on same computer

Theoretically, you could make a switch for the ribbon cable (or rounded cable if you've gone all fancy) that allowed you to switch between drives. You'd keep power to both drives all the time, but the computer would only be able to see one or the other at any given time. Some drawbacks...

Massive US trade deficit - Recipe For Disaster

Hanseng1 goes on to make some good points, and suggests his numbers might be incorrect. I'm uneasy about disagreeing with one who clearly knows more about econ than I, but while the Fed had been tightfisted recently (for a few months), it appears that our money supply has been inflating quite...

2 Hard drives on same computer

Ouch. My brain hurts now, LOL. You can add a hard drive to a system without another operating system, if that is what you are trying to do (subject to certain hardware limitations). Else you want some dual boot system for two different OSes, but I don't think you want that.
