SPY can't go to zero right?

But you never know when it's going to stop being flat... especially a slow moving one like 200 SMA... until price is so far away from it that you missed your chance to enter.

    Little Lex's YM Daytrading Journal

Hey, If you are not comfortable with the psychological stress of trading 2 contracts instead of 1, see if there's a way in your software to change the display to "points" instead of "dollars." That way you'll see +7 points or whatever and it will look the same with 1 contract as it will...

SPY can't go to zero right?

200 ma works wonderfully until price decides to chop around that area for a while. then you lose more money than you would have if you threw a party with hookers and blow for all your friends.

Help me understand Time and Sales and large orders

So I'm watching index futures. I often see large sell orders (say 200 NQ) being printed while prices continue to rise. I figure this may be institutional, but let's say the big companies break their orders up into groups under 100. I also see lots of sell orders with like 50-100 contracts...

    scalpers...

I was under the impression that scalpers didn't really look at price action per se as much as looking at imbalances in the DOM and they just rode the imbalance until it was balanced or reversed. I don't see how this is possible for a human. Imbalances stay imbalanced for less than 1 second.

Divide your money into 5 units. Buy at 80 Buy at 72 Buy at 63 Buy at 57 Buy at 52 If it goes below 50, sell all. Take remaining proceeds and buy hookers. Start over at life.

imbalances exist in the DOM for like 1 second and the they move or switch to the other side. How do you do it?

You Full-Time Traders - What is it you call yourself?

True. But those in the know know that a stock broker is actually just a salesman. The only difference is they sell stocks rather than cars or insurance.

    newbie stock question

You can buy as many as you want. Or at least you should be able to... if not you should find a new broker. But be aware that depending on your commission and the price of stock, it might not be worth your time to buy a small amount. For example, say there's a stock that's trading at 5...

what is "bid size" on Time and Sales

I'm watching it after hours on the ES and I see one row that says: Volume: 1 BidSize: 7 And another row where the volume is higher: Volume: 15 BidSize: 2 I assume volume is how many were sold at that price. What is bidsize? How many they were trying to sell? How could that be...

Searching for Clues in the Time and Sales

I put a filter on NQ at >= 50. I still see lots of red when price is going up and lots of green when price is going down. And sometimes alternating red and green during trends. And sometimes massive walls of green when price is chopping. Do not understand.
