Does your country provide a tax advantage for this? Why not just close the equity position when you want to be flat?

As an alternative to Price improvement maybe consider a platform with fast order entry, fast execution, choice of routes were some give rebates. E.g. Buy 5000 XYZ, sent to ARCA, add liquidity by Buying on the bid. We charge $4.50/trade, ARCA rebates $10 for a net $5.50 credit to you.

OK, I have gotten calls from clients of many online brokers where the client was asked to leave or pay ticket charges. That is not new but the 390 is. They can't make money on your order flow without PFOF and the brokers they send their orders to do not want that flow.

390 Orders on average per day over a month is a option exchange rule. When you pass it, you are tagged as Pro-customer vs Priority customer. This has nothing to do with equity trading or market data fees. It has to do with exchange routing fees. I can't tell if that reddit post is referring to...

This is a compliance setting and it done to be complaint. I do not have access to the logic, but I expect last sale is the exchange standard.
