can i trust lightspeed with my money?

I agree, but the smaller accounts are clearly protected, while the larger ones are not so clearly protected, even though they have been in the past.

can i trust lightspeed with my money?

Sorry for 4 comments in a row. I slept through all this! One more comment. I find it interesting that the accounts that are well under the SIPC limit are more apt to ask about safety of assets than my larger accounts and hedge fund clients that are well above SIPC limits.

Yes, ALL assets are custody with the clearing firm not us, but we are more than just a referral agent. We introduce to both Wedbush Securities and Wedbush Futures (and Interactive Brokers). We are members of SIPC, FINRA and NFA. In fact our equity/option business is MUCH bigger than our futures business. Not even close. We also have a sister technology company that own trading platforms and risk...

can i trust lightspeed with my money?

That would be incorrect. SIPC covers customer money/securities not the broker dealer's assets. All "customer" accounts are covered up to the limits, All.

    Limited strikes

When I trade any option spread, I do it with an expectation of something occurring or not occurring over a limited time period. Sometimes I want the same strike and sometimes not. Low cost of the spread is not a typical requirement for me.

Interactive Brokers True Cost of Shorting

Hard to compare as you are borrowing a different currency with a different cost of funds. In the US for USD, Fed Funds is base cost for institutional brokers and prime rate for many retail brokers. Either way, 2% to 3% does not sound high to me.

    From Lynx to IB

Not an SEC registered BD. I guess that is why I was not familiar with them. If they introduce business to IB, you should not see a big difference unless they offer some service that IB does not, like the way we offer LVX.
