    1,3,5,10,15,30 minute chart and eminis

I like volume charts as well (thanks to a few guys here) using MultiCharts for the charting. You can use a variety of settings for volume charts, so check them out as well to see what works for you.

Becoming an Independant broker while at the same time remain an independant trader

One idea that *might* work or at least be worth pursuing - don't bother with the UBS and Merrill Lynches of the world. If you bring up wanting to actively trade, you'll be red flagged instantly. What could be worth looking into is finding a pure independent firm (LPL, Raymond James are the 2...

Becoming an Independant broker while at the same time remain an independant trader

Having been a broker myself and transitioning to trading, I can say that it will be VERY VERY hard to find a firm that will allow you to trade actively and then manage client assets. As a broker, your job is to sell. And sell some more. And a little more if time allows. Your job is to accumulate...

    Yet another DOJI bearish candlestick

One could argue that a doji simply shows an equilibrium in balance between the bulls and bears and therefore does not imply a bearish or bullish tone. I understand what all the candle books out there teach, but a doji in and out itself is pretty neutral if you ask me.

When does Sep become front month?

Easiest way to remember when to roll is when the new contract has more volume. That's how I do it at least.

Wondering if someone can help develop my candlestick strategy...

As someone that uses candlesticks, I would suggest considering more patterns than 2. I'm not sure where your 70% comes from and how it was formed, but there's plenty to be made from a variety of patterns. Just understand that hard coding a pattern is not always the best thing. Perhaps the...

Trade ER2 (emini Russell 2000) solely or most of the time?

increase - do you have a new idea daily of what to trade and/or where? Seriously. You should learn to focus on one market and start trading it instead of starting a new thread here daily about what markets to trade, how to trade them, etc. Get out of the kiddie pool and and at least get your...

    broker mistakes

rdm - assuming the broker is at fault 3 times by as much as a point each trade on the ER2, my account would have been transferred yesterday. Don't stick around hoping this doesn't happen again, find a broker that provides the correct fills. That *should* be the easy part of being a broker.

    broker mistakes

How did you allow this to happen more than once, assuming the broker is actually at fault here? You'll need to provide details of what the mistakes actually were as 99.99% of the time, it's user error.

    Trading is a Giant Scam!

It's humorous to read these occasional posts from guys that just couldn't cut it trading. My suggestion is to start www.WishIWasEliteTrader.com and you guys can pat each others' backs about what a scam the markets are.

YM Volume vs. # of participants

What 'pros' are recommending the YM over the ES? If these pros are trading any size whatsoever, they would not be recommending the YM. Perhaps the YM is recommended as the 'kiddie pool' but sooner or later (maybe) you'll want to swim in the deep end. :D

What is the best Software to Use for Day Trading?

Day trading what? Stocks, futures, etc.
  18. B

YM Volume vs. # of participants

TL - what that fails to discuss is slippage issues. You won't get much (if any) on the ES and you can get considerable slippage on the YM depending on the size you are trading. The size/slippage argument may be minimal if you are not trading size, but if/when that happens, you'll quickly...

YM Volume vs. # of participants

Excellent point Gary - you'll find on the ES that certain areas are heavily respected, whereas on the YM, ER2 you can easily blow thru the same levels. Depending on how you trade, that may be an important consideration.

YM Volume vs. # of participants

EXACTLY. If you incur slippage on the way in AND/OR the way out, that is very costly. Basically, it makes your wins smaller and losses larger... all b/c you are trading market 1 when if trading market 2 you could avoid those issues.
