Open E Cry's Day Trade Margins, Do they ever Change?

I agree - negotiation is essential in any biz, esp futures trading. If you are paying published rates for ANY broker, you are paying too much. The competition is too fierce for a broker to let a current or potential client walk, unless the demands are just crazy. Make no mistake - once they know...

    World Series Of Poker...who's playing?

For our poker players, are there any websites that you would recommend for learning about games, tourneys, etc? I would like to play some more but seems like I find out about games after they are done! And doing a google search for poker will take hours to go through. Just wondering what...

Trader vs Financial Advisor; Passion vs Practicality

Cal - I think you'll find after being in the 'real world' for awhile that a resume is all about what you make it. In other words, go with your heart on this and even if it doesn't end up as planned, hire a resume writer and just like magic it will look like you were 2nd to the CEO. All kidding...

Open E Cry's Day Trade Margins, Do they ever Change?

OEC is a great option for retail traders. Customer service is top notch and they are constantly updating their trading software. Normally when you hear that something is 'free' you think it would be junk, but OEC's software is very nice, esp for being free. Commissions are competitive &...

Trader vs Financial Advisor; Passion vs Practicality

Cal - having been a salesman, I mean broker, myself as well straight of out of school, I would say follow your heart on this one. There will ALWAYS be a need for brokers that you can come back to later if need be. I know the money looks better RIGHT NOW, but I would suggest doing what you really...

    DTN/IQFeed Problems

As I said in another post, if you are going to keep DTN while they work out their server issues, you need to call tech support and ask for Loren. Tell him that you want your feed to be forced on the old servers while DTN gets their shit together. If he says anything but yes, he's lying as he was...

Lost 5000 bucks on a FAT Finger mistake

increase - the 'trade confirm' button is for newbie's that want a chance to chicken out of taking a trade or have a reason to blame something for not being able to get into a winner. Seriously. Once you start trading and realize that confirm step just gets in your way, you'll understand.

    DTN: Is NOT Keeping Up...

There is a way to be forced onto the server you want. Call and ask for Loren in tech support. While I dumped DTN, when I first called and bitched, they somehow remembered how to force you onto a certain server.

    DTN/IQFeed Problems

I had a similar problem with DTN as well - if you get put onto their 'upgraded' servers, your whole damn data feed can just go down w/o notice. It was a joke. I called and finally got them to show me how to force me onto the servers that actually work. Anyways, I am done with DTN. The whole...

    Time to quit (again)

If you are serious, hire a resume writing professional and see what they can do w/ it. There are MANY ways to show how valuable running your own biz has been. A resume is all about creating a feeling, regardless if perfectly accurate. You want the recruiter to want to call you.

PureTick Live Trading Room - - FREE open house

MasterCard will probably reimburse you immediately w/o much concern. As for the CFTC, don't hold your breath. It's 10 bucks. Could just have been a computer error. I know they should respond, so I get that, but just call MC and you'll probably get your 10 bucks back pretty quickly if you don't...

Futures pricing vs spot forex pricing

Good observation - you could use the futures charts to trade the fx, esp if you need volume in your analysis.

    Snipping content from Web Pages

SnagIt is one of my favorite programs for all that it can do. It's kinda like a watered down, very user friendly Photoshop. I know, it's not near what Pshop can do, but for 40 bucks, it's hard to beat what it's entirely capable of. The big thing for me is that it is so EASY to use.

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

As an occasional lurker on this thread during the day, I have to give props to the guys that constantly post real-time trades. I honestly don't know how you can do that consistently and manage the positions. I suppose it depends on how you trade as well, but I know when I get a setup I am...

Great post Thunder! Well said. In the end, it's about what works for you. And until Increase gets to that point, he'll continue to be all over the board.

    Time to quit

You guys are funny. Someone should learn how to use the Adobe PDF program and how to place easy restrictions on the PDF. I might change the computer skills part to... 'could use a little extra help here!'
