Looking to relocate. But to where?

Would you prefer Donnie The Mop over Crying Boy? He's all about exports, I hear. Mebbe he'd export hisse'f...... :)

    Higher volatility today possible?

Ohhhh, they don't give a rip about the markets, fergawdsakes! (Nor the actual economy, truth-be-told, right?) Noooo, their thing is The Broader Audience because, no matter *reality* (the economy) or the people who need to 'see into' the economy (us! The Market) -- their audience is their...

Looking to relocate. But to where?

Nobody liked Toronto -- I get that. What about Pittsburgh?? Largest town in New Hampshire -- and for that matter, all of New England! C'monnnnn. http://www.pittsburg-nh.com/town-history/indian-stream-republic/2-about I once took a walk with my sons http://www.toughtraveler.com/cat119.asp from...

I think the collective answer here is, "watch." Watch before the trade; watch upon transmitting the order; watch during and afterwards. All that watching won't guarantee an answer (witness the divergence of experience, trading, and opinion right here!), but it will inform.

Looking to relocate. But to where?

I can't believe that the obvious choice has not been picked already as the clear winner: http://cometotoronto.com/ (Personally, I'd choose Halifax -- my need for "culture" can be contained/salved by The Interweb. But away from the coast of Maine, you'd have pretty much any town on U.S. 2. --...

You had me at "opportunity cost" -- like the institutionals, if you've got to get it done, you've got to get it done.

IB TWS ... how to close option combo with unmarketable legs?

I've been reading this from you and others, and I *think* I have noticed that you're all leaning on equities, whereas I'm speaking from a background of SPX/ES stuff. And if I *push* my faint memory of equity spreads......... yeah. yeah. I probably load the spread *and* the legs, and push them...

Leaves me wondering if you guys "round up" in the rest of your activities..... Maybe leave a $5 tip cuz you didn't want to wait for change? D'ya say, "Hey -- keep the change..." so you don't have to lean over the counter? Go to a fair and say, "No! No! I always pay the seller's price!" and throw...

Ahhhhhh HA! Okay, so, in years and years of usage, this eclipses all of my TWS charting knowledge....

IB TWS ... how to close option combo with unmarketable legs?

The opinions expressed on this page about the ins+outs of option-trading set-ups on TWS all show the experience of the individual users. FWIW, I *can't*stand* OptionTrader, and only use it to scan what strikes are available in upcoming expirys -- that's it! I have 3 QuoteMonitor pages set up...

Market activity after Nixon resignation and Clinton impeachment?

Do they have Google on the Interwebs where you live? It's a fascinating thing. I just googled Youtube Trump Lies, and WOW, is it chock-full (and *hilarious*) -- whole *industries* have broken out in the vain attempt to keep ahead of the verbal fece-flow.... But in your defense of The...

Fat finger on TGT or what?

WOW! I was going to find some telling article on market manipulation -- thinking to choose the best from two or three, but if you google "market manipulation".... WOW. So, as you're looking through that deep-assed vein, keep in mind that half of it is being looked at for legislation/regulation...

IB TWS ... how to close option combo with unmarketable legs?

It is a *fair* idea, but only when buying out of spreads just isn't getting it done for a reasonable price (which is how I read your original post...). Again, you can burn BIG time, in trying to get out of spread legs, and *honestly* -- except for studying the market acutely and watching things...

    E-mini S&P 500 settlement on 30Nov - is it wrong?

I no longer keep track of ES, but 4:15 would be an exception -- aren't there still American-settled, too? Artifacts of construction. "Know your underlying!" And don't try to memorize it, cuz just when you do, they'll change it on you.
