"The only way to trade with Fibonaccis" journal

Hey fundamentalists, what's the reason for this little rally?

I feel like that was an inside joke/poking fun at someone, and probably funny, but I don't get it. Who or what is zerohedge?

Hey fundamentalists, what's the reason for this little rally?

No, then it's still weird, it's just awesome. I'm long SPY.

Hey fundamentalists, what's the reason for this little rally?

I don't follow the news or anything. I was moving for the last few days and just saw the S&P is way up over the last 4 days. What's going on? 5 up days in a row is weird.

(WARNING) I'm revealing a dirty secret about trading..

This. There are too many "gurus" on ET. I can explain the secret of boxing, too: dodge your opponents punches and hit him back where he's open.

So is the correct play there to go long right there, which will (presumably) be a bounce off the lower trendline? Target profit is upper trendline? Where is the stop loss?

Oh, I absolutely believe that they are extremely profitable. Trust me, I would much rather trade all in from the beginning in the correct direction than to do the averaging in that I do now. Cool. I still want to have our chat, I've just been super busy. I felt bad for never getting back...

I think you exited the trade when the slope of the HMA changed, whether that was for a win or a loss. That way, the market's action would cause you to exit. You wouldn't miss out on huge runs. I'll PM him and page him to this thread.

Here is an example of quantified rules: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1991888#post1991888 btw that thread isn't really worth reading. It's a bunch of ambiguity and then TRO kept spamming it. jjrvat has some good concepts regarding HH/HL and LH/LL but seems to...

    A simple price action approach

I'm talking about anything that can be quantified, so that there is no question about whether or not any signal should be taken. No room for interpretation. X condition occured, do Y response. The way I trade now is mostly quantifiable, although I make little adjustments here and there...

    A simple price action approach

Even intuitive trading or whatever is still rule based, it's just the rules are being analyzed in your brain nearly instantaneously and it's mostly subconscious and would probably be very hard to quantify even if they tried. Often, just because someone is good at something, it doesn't mean...

That was only when I was day trading the ES. I mentioned a few pages back (depending on how many posts you have per page) that I wasn't going to close out this position even if it went below the 0 line. In fact, a few posts back, I have already stated the next entry level which is below the 0...

"System" meaning set of quantifiable rules that are followed. Discretionary trading is not really a "system." If you cannot look back and say "oh, I did this wrong because I did not follow rule number whatever and that's why I lost money," then you do not have a system. People who trade...
