    Think or Swim

If you are a futures day trader, you will be disappointed. Their emphasis is on option trading. That, they do well. Support ? Superb. Reliability ? the best. Unfortunately, NinjaTrader, Tradestation, and even ESignal make them look pretty weak when it comes to e-mini futures trading. I M H O.

So Laslo Birinyi just called the bottom on CNBC...

Exactly. Lazlo's track record is none too great. And these earnings announcements are all in hindsight.....the Wallstreet layoffs alone will bring this economy to it's knees. Perhaps tens or hundreds of thousands of 6-figure earners to be left with a severance....and no option other than to...

I think Bloomberg could do it.....but Wow, wait till you see the price of their API !

NinjaTrader 6.5 Released with Expanded Brokerage Support!

I'd be wary about this especially with dot-net's "baggage"....it's not that speedy. If Ninja was architected with parallelism to support dual/quad processors, only then could I see this working reasonably well. Otherwise, be sure to have task manager running to check that CPU usage !

    Market API's

Be careful. There are many, many API's out there, but few offer a robust, PROGRAMMABLE stock scanner. Interactive Brokers has one....but it is very limited to a select set of scanning criteria....you cannot customize it. You can't even get a list of stocks that have gapped higher at 9:31 am and...

    GOOG suckers

The GOOG CEO's announcement that they will be immune to the economy sounds a lot like the denial by the Bear Stearns CEO they had any major sub-prime problems. But at least GOOG won't go bankrupt.

Think or Swim, no time and sales data?

They have time-and-sales....sort-of. With their Excel interface, you could easily capture the LAST and VOLUME and TIME into a spreadsheet. With a bit of VBA code, you could even analyze and/or chart it. However, keep in mind, TOS is a sampled data feed. Not all ticks are being shown in the...

How to get your Testosterone High?

This is great advice....and I agree. I've been using the Barry Bonds formula for the most part....HGH, DHEA, Prednisone....all in moderation. Especially the latter.

    Getting close to 100,000 members

Agreed. But with the massive, and I mean absolutely MASSIVE layoffs on Wallstreet about to happen, these numbers are going to get large....REAL LARGE. Average Salary on Wallstreet last year: $ 387,000 ... and that's only AVERAGE. Where are these people going to have a chance to make even...

Took a tough loser today going into the close

Uh...what are you talking about ? You're scalping for ticks with large size, possibly using a software-based pricing model based on Level I or Level II data. If I'm wrong, please correct me. Note: Lehman Brothers pioneered this approach 2 years ago with their SOBI (Static Order...

Took a tough loser today going into the close

Hmm....why are you screwing around at the close on such an incredibly emotional market day ? I mean today was almost historic in some ways. You should have been out and at the bar at 3:45. You've got to be joking, right ? Playing with that kind of volume (60 !) with software that is "glitchy"...

It's obvious, isn't it ? Take a look at the bright green line. Sell on the peaks, buy on the dips. Anyone know how the green line is calculated ?

    Marketsurfer's bold gold proclamation

Well, Surf was a tad early on his call, but overall it was a great short. Keep in mind, highly paid Karen Finerman of Fast Money fame has been long this piece of crap for quite a while.
