Same is here. Sometimes it locks up for 3-4 min right at the opening. I think it gets better later. Maybe their server can't handle a high volume of trades in the morning.

Yes, the opening prices are screwed. Today's opening price for spy is shown as 10,000. The problem is on and off: it started like month back and then it was ok for a while and now they stopped sending the opening price again. And I was using the same version all the time.

You do not actually short the market. You are market neutral.

Regarding point #2 the further out of the money calls you will write the less will be your benefit from such a big move that you are predicting. Hope that qualifies for #3.
