ET99, It seems like you are using BB a lot. Then you might be interested in the following book: "Dynamic Technical Analysis" by Philippe Cahen. He covers excellent material there in both editions. He centers his ideas around BB. John Bollinger was very impressed when he learned about work...

Trade after work -- Trade HSI

As we all know there are many ways to profit from trading. Kiwi and I choose to switch the markets, ET99 and CFerret love the new behaviour on HSI. To each its own, after all break out trading is one the method, and not a bad one at all, as it was demonstrated by Mark Fisher in his great book...

Final paper trade testing of Woodies CCI club

Anek, I can easily post here charts, but like I said just bring up any chart. Then look at price action and try to see if CCI will help you to see easier when momentum changes from bullish to bearish and wise versa. Regards, redduke

Final paper trade testing of Woodies CCI club

I trade DAX, so my example will be on this market, but it is applicable to any. Just bring up 144 constant volume chart, then look at price action with and without CCI. Which one is easier to interpret? I use constant volume bars because they represent price action in its purest form. Fixed...

Final paper trade testing of Woodies CCI club

The way Woodie structured cci with 6 bars above/below zero line defining up or down trend, it becomes easier to interpret price action. I spent enough screen time to make decisions just by looking at price action, but find it a bit harder to interpret it by itself, and thus utilize cci.

Final paper trade testing of Woodies CCI club

You missed my point. Just put up a chart with 14 CCI, them choose price bars into line. You will see what I mean, but saying CCI resembles price action.

Totally concur with what Kiwi wrote above. I have experienced it myself, and switched to DAX as a result. Kiwi, How come you did not choose Kospi, I have seen daily volumes for its options, and it is bigger then us. Regards, redduke

Trade after work -- Trade HSI

This is what you wrote on 11/15/2007: just because you can't make money in HSI does not mean you need to get upset. Not everybody is skilled in this market; probably you aren't, therefore you should not be trading it. Thus you are a "non-HSI trader". If you want to be labelled "non-HSI...

Trade after work -- Trade HSI

Just stumbled into this thread. Almost fell of my chair when I saw a comment that Kiwi is not HSI trader. What Kiwi wrote is absolutely true, I traded this contract from spring time up to late summer when all this craziness began. The spread used to be 2-3 ticks on average, and I got...

It is an economic number (I believe survey) that is done in Germany. When it is released, the market becomes very volatile. Another important one is IFO. You can download weekly economic calendar from dailyfx.com. I am always flat few min before and after numbers come one. Regards, redduke

    A must read WSJ article

Phenominal trade, though I think he made a mistake with being so public about his winnings. After all, they were made betting against housing market, and when scape goats will be needed for the whole subprime mess, he might be looked at.

I also had a tough morning. My first red day of the year. These first 2 hours before ZEW had no follow throughs at all. I was able to make some of it back, after ZEW, but not enough to cover losses. Usually ZEW mornings have more action and I go flat 5 min before it comes out and stay out after...

    majority traders really lose money??

Trading off weekly chart might give you few set ups a year, what if they all fail or do not make much??? The year is gone. Day trading is another extreme. Both can be learned to work, but to each its own.
