I've been experimenting with constant range charts hoping that they would help with determining this. So say I'm using a 3 point constant range chart for the NQ. If my stop is set at 3.25 points, that gives me the range of one full bar to be wrong about but still have it reverse within that...

Re: not using stops. I've had situations when I entered and price went 20+ ticks against me before it went in my favor (for a profit). That was in a demo account. I don't have the balls to hold onto 20 tick losses with real money. So obviously if it's going 20 ticks against me before...

I know all about how PTF trades. I think it's awesome. But that's why in my first post I said "this is for trend following systems. Obviously counter trend will be different, especially if you average down."

... (almost) picking tops or bottoms? Every time I use "tight stops" I get stopped out regardless of if I had the right direction or not. I'm defining "tight stops" to be 3.25 points on the NQ (13 ticks). I read a, um, "study" on here where where people did some research over a billion...

hey veggen, it looks better if you go into your chart settings on OEC and change them like this: Orders --> - Completed Orders = Off - Fills = On That way you can see a small triangle at the price you bought, rather than a big arrow pointing to the candle and not showing the entrance/exit.

So you can "tape read" from looking at a chart? Why don't they just call it "looking at a chart" then? And isn't that the same a "price action," too?

Or something else. I always thought it meant watching TaS but I just read a website that said that is NOT what it means. Now I'm confused. Or is it one of those vague things like "price action" that everyone says but no one defines?

What does it mean when it's trading below the bid? I just saw that for a sec. The bid was 892.25, the ask was 892.00, but the highlighted row was 891.75.
