    Oct Unemployment Rate

Has anyone heard if they're going to extend unemployment benefits? I heard they do this "in times of economic hardship," and I think right now qualifies as that, but I haven't heard if they're going to do it or not.

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

^ jjrvat, thanks very much for posting that chart. Also, check your PMs :D Also, how are you entering on the candle that changes to red downslope? Isn't the earliest one can enter at the beginning of the candle after the confirmed trend change? edit - or are those arrows drawn on after...

How is ''trend trading'' any different from 'chaser trades'???

You should remove the porn on the desktop from the image before you post it :D

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

I'm just trying to come up with something that is psychologically easier to deal with than "holding on for dear life until the trend changes."

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

Selling the high or middle of a 30 minute period would be counter trend trading. This thread is about trend following.

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

what? I posted my thoughts about what was going on during that trade. It's easy to look back and say "lol you sold low" but at the time I had no way of knowing; I was going by the LLs and LHs.

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

Some of them have had some profit before reversing, but probably not over $50. I will have to go back and review my backtesting data (all in spreadsheets) and see. Some of those losses were 20+ ticks tho and I'm hesitant to hold TWO contracts through that (that's $400 on the YM which is what...

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

I hate stock taxes and don't want to deal with wash sales and PDT rules and stuff. I have thought about doing what you said, however. I wish there was like a mini e-mini :D

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

Sorry dude, I can't take the risk of losing such a high percentage of my account value in such a short time. Plus, for every loss of x ticks with 2 contracts, it would take a win of > x ticks using the 2-1 method. So my winners HAVE to be greater than my losers just to break even.

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

Thanks for contributing to my thread. You're right I must not be open to learning since I ignored the myriad of statistically measurable and quantifiable information present in your posts. You should market your system. It's pure genius. Cheers.

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

Well in my backtesting I would use a relatively fast MA such as a 17 period Hull Moving Average to determine "trend." So after a lower low and higher low, when the HMA turned back to sloping downward I would enter at the beginning of the next candle and hold that short position until the candle...

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

Ok here are my two and only trades (both losers) today. I use SierraChart for my charting because I don't like OEC's charting, but I have to place my orders through OEC because the SC interface doesn't support OEC orders yet. Anyway, that's why these are OEC charts here, so you can see my...

So doesn't using "tight stops" necessitate

I'm going to post some charts but I'm going to alter them so that a) they appear exactly as I saw them WHEN I PLACED MY TRADE and then b) how they looked after. The reason I'm doing this is because people always post charts after the fact and they took one trade on it that was hugely...
