Let's play "teach IronFist how to use volume in his trading" (lots of pics)

Points in time where the trends (on the time frame you monitor) changes from one direction to another. Forget the default setings of the software used. Program the correct settings yourself (if possible). If not, use different software which allows for changes to how a trader wants to color...

Let's play "teach IronFist how to use volume in his trading" (lots of pics)

Without correct Bar Coloration, you can expect to never see what Volume tells you. Start with a 5 minute chart of the ES and color the Price and Volume Bars in such a fashion that areas of change stand out. Forget the software default settings. They don't allow for accuracy. - Spydertrader

    Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!!

At the 1999 Bristol Race (from my seat in Section S, Row 18 of the Waltrip Grandstand), I watched Terry Labonte do just that - run through everyone on his way to Earnhardt. Gordon (LaBonte's Team mate at the time) moved out of Terry's way, but The Kelloggs' Chevy used the chrome horn on everyone...

As always, context remains key to determining what actions an Outside Bar signals. A trader could see an Outside Bar on Increasing Volume or Decreasing Volume. In addition (with reference to ending a Lateral) an Outside Bar might form with one or both extremes contained within the lateral or...

Each of the three Traverses annotated above (Two Dominant and One Non-Dominant) have commonality. Find what all Traverses have in common in order to know in real time whether or not you have annotated correctly. You do not need me, my charts or a thread to show you what you need to see. -...

    McCain born in Panama

Couldn't care less about Mac's position on the Small Pox Vaccine, but I do find it hilarious that you continue to apply a non-medical defintion, such as, "To treat someone with disdain" onto a clear medical condition, as in, "Physicians treat haemophilus influenza with cefuroxime axetil Tablets...

    McCain born in Panama

ROFLMAO. Uhm. Let's try to deal in reality here. Birth Control pills no more treat pregnancy than Vaccines treat Small Pox. If you want to rewrite medical textbooks in your spare time, good luck with that, but please, your reasoning here doesn't just boarder on laughable, it blows...

No terminology changes resulted from this latest chartscript. The new calculations simply more accurately portray Dry Up Volume (and all other Pace Levels). Because of the improved accuracy, the calcualtions for LBDU (and other [i]statistical based calculations) no longer apply to the formula...

    Iterative Refinement

Maybe, because the market doesn't signal 'Lateral' until the 10:45 ES [close of] Bar - five minutes after the FTT. Hence, the anotations (Lateral Movement) you 'see' now did not make their way onto the chart until later - after the FTT already signaled. In other words, the market signals...

I received more than a few requests to post my charts for the day, however, I haven't annoated or traded past 2 PM Eastern Time. Hopefully, the attched can add some clarity, but I suspect some may feel the annotations provide ambiguity or confusion. No worries. Simply look to see why annotations...

    Iterative Refinement

11:20 ES [close of] Bar provides a "change in dominance" without a change in mode. In other words, the market has provided a clue, or a 'heads up' if you will, to watch for a mode change. Contrast this with the Lateral formed by the 12:05 ES [close of] bar. No such signal for a heads up, and...

I encourge you to review my comments once again. I don't see where I spoke of a single bar as having a certain significance. You appear to be looking at a single bar, whereas I discussed the changes which occurred over several bars. I'm confident Jack has posted on the Pace of the market in...

See those horizontal lines in the Volume Pane of your charts? Perhaps, a reason exists for including them. Note how Volume moves from 'just above DU' (at 10:56 YM [close of] Bar) to the 'Extreme' levels within 4 minutes. Note how Volume first shows increasing Volatility with increasing...
